27th May (Mon): Monday being such a busy day, I didnīt even make it down to the beach. My achievement was making it to my Portuguese class on time.. which was excellent. My techer reminds me of a primary school teacher (probably because she was used to teaching english to children)and it was a great feeling having revenge for those kiddie days by interrupting the teacher with questions and assisting with the direction of the lesson.. an intense session, 95% in Portuguese, learning enough so that I could practice with strangers on the bus ride home. I discovered a Brasilian whiskey. It costs $9 (much like Bacardi Rum) for a bottle, and doesnīt mention how long it has been aged. It certainly isnīt a single malt, but enjoyable, especially when mixed with a local Guarana based softdrink. I am becoming grateful for my mosquito net.. even though the mosquitos who carry Dengue Fevour bite mainly during the day (I guess I sleep then too) those who bite at night are annoying my room-mates who sleep in their sheets.
