13th May: After another great breakfast we resolved to get on the road to Straddie ASAP. Just after I did some shopping for a digital camera and chase down some travellers cheques, visa card etc. By 4:30 pm sharp we were on track to make the last ferry... arriving perfectly on time to get the gateman to pull back the rope while we bought a ticket and ran onboard.. 2 way with (Elaines xo) car + 2 people was $86. Arriving in Dunwich we headed the 16km to the northern side of the island where beaches and rocky points replaced the green mangroves, to a palatial camping ground on the foreshore. Palatial? well, hot water! on tap.. and the pub right next door! Flavel **** recommendation
