About the Foundation Hall
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered -
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...
Shakespeare,
Henry V, Act 4, Scn 3

What is the Royal Order of the Knights of Herne?
The Royal Order of the Knights of Herne is a fraternal spirituality and service group for men of Earth-centered faiths, organized along the lines of ancient orders of chivalry such as the Knights Templar. Though primarily dedicated to the exploration of men's spirituality through Pagan, Heathen, and other types of earth-centered rituals, we also have a strong commitment of service to the community. For a more detailed explanation of what we do and how we're organized, see the Order's website.

What is the Foundation Hall?
The Foundation Hall, founded in the year 2000, is the first Hall (chapter) of the Order. It is based in Greensboro, North Carolina, and serves the Triad area (Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem). Open meetings of the Foundation Hall are held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greensboro, 5603 Hilltop Road, at 7:30pm on the third Friday of every month. All are welcome to attend.

Can I join the Foundation Hall?
We'd first like to note that we only recruit face-to-face; we are NOT an online organization. That said, if you're male, 19 years of age or older, following some sort of Earth-based tradition or path, living in the Triad area or able to visit for meetings at least once a month, and have a sincere interest in dedicating yourself to the Code of Chivalry and other precepts of the Order, the Foundation Hall will consider you for membership. While we have no active recruiting program, we do grant membership on a case-by-case basis. You may contact us via email to arrange a meeting, or attend an open meeting of the Hall to begin the process.
What if I don't live in the Triad area - can I still join?
Recently, we've began a program to establish new Halls at a distance. If you're interested in participating in this program, please contact us and we'll explain the procedure. In brief, it may be possible for you and at least two other men in your area to establish an Outpost of the Order, which may become a full-fledged Hall after a probationary period is successfully completed.
