We started out at 9:15, arguing. We went toward the south, and started with a DNF. Thence to a cemetery. We found one, then went to a back area of the cemetery, where another might have been under the road. There was a swallow's nest there and Rich tried to get a picture. It's fuzzy, but I see an egg, anyway. We couldn't find this cache. This was the section with the one-date children. (Died the day they were born.) I cried.
We found a really different light post cache... on a plastic strip pushed up inside the pole. While we were trying to get to this one, we nearly had an accident. "Sharpen your skills" turned out to be a pencil sharpener. Then there were a number in Bradley Park. It's tense driving in a strange city, and trying to both find a cache and stay safe, and sometimes Rich pays more attention to the GPS than the traffic.
There's a prolific hider in Peoria called Fuzzy. Some of his caches are very clever, some we couldn't find at all. One of the latter, the previous hunter said something about how Fuzzy ups the difficulty by fuzzing the coordinates, so I said something about how that would explain a lot. This hurt his feelings, especially after he'd helped us with some we'd missed. Sometimes you forget it's a human being on the other side of the comment...
We went to the house for lunch, then I sent Rich out with the boys. The Graduate is engrossed with a game of Goo. The Karma Kid and the Incipient Chef could barely be dragged away from it. We'd gone over 6200 caches and I was trying to catch up with the TBs I'd seen and discovered in Tennessee. (10 days later, I still haven't.)
We told them to order pizza. I specifically said "pepperoni" for Rich and it was mis-heard as "sausage." However, there was enough for him, and I thought the sausage was really good. I had been going to charge it, but it was hard on the phone and the poor girl was standing there on the porch, and I finally just handed her cash.
1. While North Korea detonates nukes and tests its missiles and while the market for Treasury bonds craters, President Obama is raising money in Hollywood because it is all about the Benjamins.Maybe he can hold a fund-raiser for the U.S. Treasury.
And"
The interest rate is headed for 3.70% and growing. That is unsustainable. We will not have seen a national debt as high a percentage of our GDP since World War II.
This is incompetence from a Know It All.
