I mailed a rosary to Genevieve this morning, came back and worked on packing and on getting the house in order. After Rich bowled, we took Pharaoh to the kennel. He's 37 pounds. He was happy to go off with the nice lady. I wonder how long it took for him to realize he was abandoned. I wonder how long he'll take to adjust when we return. We packed an "overnight bag"... the toy he takes to bed, and a bone, and what's left of a thread chewie. They gave me a thing which said they couldn't guarantee that they'd give the toys back. No problem, they aren't exactly heirlooms. I feel guilty about leaving him so long, never mind that Heinz survived a much longer separation.

Roni tried to go to Mass in N'awlins (at St. Louis basilica: we've seen that and Jackson Square!) and was blocked at every turn. Because of a delay in Dallas, she didn't get in till 2, so was too tired for 9. So she walked over for 11, only there was a first responders event there, too crowded. They're getting a cat with the house. The owners really didn't want to take this outdoor pet to the pound. I wonder how the cat will adjust. Roni says it's a $798K cat with a $2K house attached.
