Yesterday we went bowling again. It was certainly worse than last week! Rich did OK, with a 158, 148 and 176, but I reeled from a 142 to a 100, then recovered with a 154. My average is now down to 133.
Then we went off to the northwest for three new caches. At one of them, we started toward it from the north and spied a pheasant hen hunkered down on her nest, can't see me, can't see me. Rich walked past her, but as I got closer it was just too much and off she flew. There were 11 brown eggs in the clutch. It turned out that we were on the wrong side of the flume anyway, so we quickly got out of the area so she could return.
We filled the car when we got back and again Rich lost his temper. HE claims he said "Damn it!" because I zeroed the trip meter, but I say he said "Damn you!" In either case, it was over the top.
Today we went to see TROY. Our cache out at the movie theater is gone again, and this time I think it's really gone, so I temporarily disabled it till I can get the substitute cache in. The movie itself was a lot of fun. Rich didn't like it as much as I did. I kept thinking Paris looked familiar, but it wasn't till he started playing with a bow and arrow that I recognized Legolas. I don't read much about movies before I see them, so while I'm sure Orlando Bloom had crossed my consciousness, his name hadn't stuck. And, of course, Brad Pitt is eye candy any time. The one I fell for, though, played Hector. Yum. Of course, the seige of Troy took 10 years, but never mind. Maybe Peterson should make the Odyssey as a sequel, I could bear to watch Odysseus some more!
If he made the Aeneid, the story would be entirely new to me.
Back at home I turned on the cellphone and it scared me to death by dancing around in my hand! It turns out that the cacher who called last Thursday apparently had a callback feature and called us on Sunday. Too bad I didn't check then, we might have gotten together. OK, this is the first time I've had a voicemail, so I learned a little more about the phone. We're going to get dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century, like it or not!
