I was really exhausted today. Furthermore, and worringly, there was a pain on my lower left arm. I took a couple of aspirin in case this was a clot just waiting to head for my heart. I also vowed to keep paying attention and to head for Kaiser if it continued. Meanwhile, Rich was trying a pain patch on his sore arm, too.
Our team won all four games last week without us. Today it was 2 and 2. I did fine, with a 153, 147, 139. Since my average was 122, this is quite good. It pulls my average to 134. It'll be harder to get a lunch certificate for 40 pins over average now!
Back at home, I slept through most of the Kings game. I finally regained consciousness in time to hear them lose in overtime. Argh.
Well, in summary of the trip, I want to go back to Palm Springs and to Phoenix, and it'd be OK to see Tucson again. South Utah demands more attention, as does the north side of the Grand Canyon. I never have to see Tombstone or Area 51 again. (Though I'm glad we did once.)
I had a weird moment with this 'puter earlier today. I was working on past postings, asked for a file and got a working one from last year, not even the finished "0508.txt" I have stashed. I wouldn't even have the least idea how to find the old incomplete copy just loose.

The Belmont Club has a scary prediction. I hope he's wrong. Might this be the last gasp of civility? Oh, I hope not.

Richard A. Galen has been to Abu Ghraib.
On the assassination of Chechen President, I'm so torn... initially I was all for the Chechens, because they were against the evil empire, but since 9/11 it's apparent they are Islamist terrorist thugs.
Here is the Iraqi blog roundup.
Then there's the election. Heh.
This is what I thought I heard. This was probably also the fault of the Secret Service? Snicker. "Bicycle unleashes savage attack on John Kerry's patriotism"
Glenn has an example of the Bush administration again succeeding in bringing democratic ideals to a country. Of course, this doesn't hit the media.
Kerry accused his fellow soldiers of war crimes -- after he returned from Vietnam. That's a lot less courage than was displayed by the U.S. soldier who complained to his superiors about abuses at Abu Ghraib, resulting in an investigation that got his commanding general relieved in January -- months before this issue went public.
A Frank Guide to a Cordial Political Discussion:
Most often people will disagree on issues of the day, but just because someone doesn't think like you doesn't mean you should call him evil and kill him. That's what Islamic extremists and the majority of posters at Democratic Underground would do.Read the whole thing.
