It's time for my annual "what am I watching?" list. I no longer watch General Hospital which makes it easier to keep up with the tapes. Though I should tape it on Thanksgiving so I'll see the annual silliness. Occasionally I catch a few minutes... and I see certain plots repeated and repeated.

So, Sunday is the news shows. Locally This Week is on at the same time as Fox News Sunday so I tape the latter and watch George till it's time to go to church. I get Face the Nation and I'm now taping Chris Matthews as well as Meet the Press. That night I watch American Dreams, Dick Clark's vanity show, which at least has great music. I'm enjoying it. Next is Lawn Order: Criminal Intent. (We watch all these gardening shows.) The know-it-all detective is annoying, but fun to watch. Next, The Practice, though their late anti-Catholic bent is about to drive me away.

Monday: Rich has Monday Night Football, of course. I go into the back room and see Boston Public. Then I tape Third Watch and start CSI:Miami live. Then when football is finally over (never ever on time) Rich calls me back and we finish seeing it together. At 10 we watch Crossing Jordan. Then early Tuesday morning, which my guide calls late-night Monday, the PBS channel repeats Masterpiece Theater. I watched the original Forsyte Saga back 35 years ago and loved it, and read all the books. However, this version is all new to me, though I still don't like Irene at all.

Tuesday: I tape one of my two favorites, Gilmore Girls, so I can pay attention to the dialogue on my own schedule. Meanwhile, I watch The Guardian. Then I tape Judging Amy and pay a lot of attention to 24 in real time. Boy, that's a fascinating show! I wish I'd seen it last year. At 10 it'sNYPD Blue which I've only started on this year.

Wednesday it's my all-time favorite show (for this season), on tape. That would be The Amazing Race which I enjoy both for the scenery and the interactions in the pairs. At last the Too Beautiful For You couple left. Also, the older ones, the people I've been rooting for, are beginning to get really snippy with each other. Or so it's edited. Meanwhile, I watch Ed live, except for this week when I had to ask Rich what happened because I slept through it. Then it's Presidio Med, where the errant wife made a big mistake and confessed last week. Then it's the main "Lawn Order."

Thursday, my "must-see TV" is mostly CBS... Survivor, CSI, and Without a Trace, finishing with ER. Our CBS station runs an hour early because of Prime Time News, which helps.

Friday is Providence, which has apparently been cancelled. Pity. I tape John Doe which is beginning to make me say under my breath "who is number 1?" "You are number 6." The other odd show of the season that I was watching, Push Nevada, was cancelled almost instantly. (Gee, they put it opposite ER and then they're shocked, *shocked*, when it doesn't do well.) At the same time I'm sort of watching "Robbery Homicide Division" but I haven't gotten into it yet. The third Lawn Order, SVU, comes at the end.

Also Tuesday through Saturday, after the news, we watch Jeopardy and, no excuse for this, Wheel of Fortune. Saturday only has The District, so we listen to "Prairie Home Companion" and "Sound and Spirit" (This week was the one about Lord of the Rings).

But hey, I can quit any time!

If the Donks had convicted Billy Jeff after his impeachment, Al Gore would most likely be President, and both houses of congress might well be in Donk hands.

You know what? For the very first time, I think I'm glad they didn't convict the former liar, perjurer, and impeachee.
