PHOTO JOURNAL

A WEEK IN ST. ANDREWS

Monday Page - 2

On the way to the Post Office is the Church I go to, St Andrews Baptist or 'The Bapo' as it is known to a few of us student types. Only the evening services are held here but it is quite a nice building full of very nice people who cook very nice roasts.

A quick diversion up Bell Street is called for to get to a cash machine and to purchase some goodies to post. Very tempted to pop into the new Coffee Shop but the idea of needing to order a 'medium wicked cappa Americano' is putting me off. Why on Earth can't they just say 'white coffee'??

After the bank, Clinton Cards (SA's 2nd biggest shop!) and the Post Office it was time for the Lunchtime Prayer Meeting at the Chaplincey so I headed off there.

Bit understaffed this week so to speak, but Lydia and Heather (I think) were there. A couple more folk did turn up in the end though.

After prayer meeting it was off to the lab for an exciting three and a half hours of experiments!! Sounds good except we've still got the undergrads in with us and they are still doing my experiment. Grrrrrr, push off!

Ended up amusing myself for a few hours by analysing data from a previous experiment before the curse of the Internet got hold of me and I was drawn to the CU Forum which was buzzing so much today it crashed! Woo!!

Of course in every Lab there is the well deserved break at 4.00pm...

The sophisticated browsed today's quality papers.

The studious couldn't avoid talking about work, typical!

Some talked of football...

...and others 'listened'.

So after succumbing to the joys of the Net but having done some work, Lab was soon over and it was time to head home via the er... direct route of Tescos in the town centre.

But I got to see the Christmas lights on again so it was quite good. Not as grand as Exeter's but not too shabby for a small Scottish town

TOMORROW: It's St Andrews day and all our lectures have been cancelled or rescheduled but I shall be in the Lab all day so you'll probably get some Laser Tweezing experiment photos. In the evening is CU Link Group so should be some photo's from that. The theme for the night is 'relationships' but hopefully Holly and Matt will not be able to try out their speed dating idea. Plus there might be some frantic experiment writing up as well for the marking session on Wednesday.
