"Prepare for war, but strive for peace."

HISTORY: Before the War, Fortress Maximus was an accomplished architect.  Many of Cybertrons most famous buildings and monuments were designed and built by him.  At the start of the Great War when the Autobots obtained transformation technology, he had himself modified so that he could transform into two construction bays to aid his work.  As the War increased in ferocity a number of his prized constructions were destroyed.  Angered by this he joined the Autobot Army and although fully behind their cause he refused to have his transformations modified to make him a more effective warrior.  He did concede slightly and had one mode modified into a battle-field repair bay.  As the vorns passed and more and more of his creations were reduced to ash by Decepticon raids, he became more and more angry with the Decepticons.  The urge to strike back became almost overpowering.  He finally conceded and was even eager to have his last construction bay mode converted into a weapons platform of devastating power and potential.

With his new found drive and power he quickly rose up through the ranks of the Autobots, gaining their trust and respect on the way.  With the disappearance of Optimus Prime and the Autobot Elite aboard the Ark, he became involved in a leadership dispute with the last surviving member of the Autobot Council of Elders, Emirate Xaaron.
 

PROFILE: Fortress Maximus is a warrior without compare.  Brilliant, determined and deadly he would be more than willing to fight a solo war against the Decepticons if need be.  He is also a tactical genius. However, he is also impulsive and independent.  Sometimes he finds it difficult to work under the command of another and this has lead to a current split in Autobot forces on Cybertron.  He also only fights out of necessity finding all combat distasteful and ultimately futile. He has been known to keep to himself sometimes, but this is usually for personal reasons and he has never allowed private projects to endanger his ability to command or the safety of his followers.  Fortress Maximus longs for the day when peace will finally return to Cybertron and any Decepticon getting in the way of that had better watch out.

 

ABILITIES: Heavily armoured and armed, Fortress Maximus is a walking armoury.  In robot mode he carries a fusion powered photon rifle, which is more than capable of neutralizing most Decepticons with a single shot. He transforms into a repair bay and a small battle platform.  In repair mode he can conduct simultaneous repairs on three Autobots.  His battle platform mode is armed with laser cannons, mortars, pulse blasters, machine gun batteries and his photon cannon.  It can also be equipped with racks of rockets if need be.  Both modes contain a sophisticated radar and communications suite. He also has the control of two remote controlled vehicles, Gasket and Grommet who can combine together to from the warrior Cog.  Maximus uses these two vehicles as advanced scouts and perimeter guards when he is not in robot mode.

WEAKNESSES: In robot mode he is highly manoeuvrable, but in his alt modes he is a stationary making him an easy target.  At such times he has to rely on Cog and his automated weapons systems to defend himself.  Splitting his concentration between Gasket, Grommet and himself can also leave him vulnerable to surprise attacks.
