Mr. Hyatt is a 20-year veteran of Law Enforcement, now retired from the Lakeland Police Department.   During his 20-year career he has worked in the patrol division, criminal investigation division, special investigation division, and after completion from the National Crime Prevention Institute at the University of Louisville, he started the crime prevention unit at the Lakeland Police Department.

During his five year tenure in crime prevention at the Lakeland Police Department he developed and implemented many prevention programs that ultimately won Mr. Hyatt the prestigious award of one of the top ten police officers in the nation, by Parade Magazine and the International Chiefs of Police Association.

While in charge of the crime prevention unit at the Polk County Sheriffs Office Mr. Hyatt completed the anti-terrorism school at the University of Louisville; upon his return he gave numerous lectures and developed terrorism prevention programs for various businesses.

In the private sector, Mr. Hyatt was a regional security manager for the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, overseeing the security operation of 21 regional malls.
