| Ch. 2 Bulma sat there trying to mend the Saiyajin Prince's battle outfit. She took notice of the hole that was in the chest area right above his heart. ~That must of been the final blow...~ She thought as she remembered that he had been killed on Namek. A flash of pity rose up in her as she thought about it. ~Wow, Vegeta may have been one the bad guys, but even he didn't deserve to die like that...~ In fact the only one she could think of that was deserving of such a death was Freezer. Vegeta was nothing like him. You wouldn't see Freezer saving the life of his mortal enemies son...Of course Vegeta had said that he hadn't saved Gohan's life and that "he wasn't worth it" but you could see right through that "bad guy" act. He had saved Gohan and he probably didn't even know why himself. ~I guess he's not used to helping people....~ She giggled to herself. "Have you got that done yet, woman?" Came a deep voice from behind her. She spun around in her swivel chair to face him. "You'll have to have patience your majesty." She purposely emphasised the word "majesty." She took not that he had on human attire and that he looked DAMN good in it. It was so weird to see him like that. He never would have known that he was the same Vegeta that came to Earth to kill them all. He looked like an extra delicious hunk. ~tee- hee! I can get used to this guy...~ He folded his arms and scowled at her. "Patience? If I have to wear this HUMAN attire for one more minute...." He was cut off before he could finish his threat. "Oh? Well listen here buddy! You're a guest here in MY house and you'll just have to act civil! You'll just have to HAVE patience! You should be happy that I'm doing this in the first place!" Bulma screamed at him. He "hmph'd" and took a place in front of her. ~Damn woman. She had better stop talking to me like that or I'll blow her and the rest of her insane family to hell!~ He tried to forget the fact that actually needed to stay here since he didn't have anywhere else to go. That part made him feel VERY uneasy. He wasn't in control here and that was something that he was NOT used to. And as much as he didn't want to admit it, he had been slightly worried as to where he was going to go until Bulma had told him to come with her. He watched her sow a bit and then asked a question that had been bothering him ever since she had asked him to stay with her. "Why did you ask me to stay with you?" Bulma looked up from her sowing and smiled slightly. She shrugged and said matter-of-factly, "Well, you didn't have anywhere else to go and well, I had plenty of space." She could of sworn that she saw like disappointment flash across his face. But it was hard to tell seeing how his expressions hardly ever changed and they were almost invisible to the untrained eye. But for some reason she could see them perfectly. "That still doesn't really answer my question. Have you forgotten who I am woman?" He said a bit heatedly. Bulma saw what he was getting at and smiled even more. "Of course I know who you are Vegeta. I haven't forgotten that it was you who came here a year ago and was threatening all of us with certain disaster and the end of the world as we know it. Oh, I haven't forgotten what you WERE but quite frankly I'm more concerned with what you are NOW." Vegeta was shocked at first and didn't know what to say, he wasn't used to these "sentimental"moments. But he was quite familiar with how to be angry. "Hmph, you humans are more stupid then I would of ever imagined! You actually think that I'm some "good-guy" now?! I'm the same as I was then and don't expect me to repent or anything, cuz' it won't be happening!" And with that he stormed out of the room. Bulma was only slightly shocked by his reaction. She was half expecting him to blow up. She just sighed and went back to sowing. Later that night... Vegeta sat there in the tall oak trying desperately to concentrate on his ki. But it was near impossible. He couldn't get the blue haired beauty's words out of his head. ~Oh I haven't forgotten what you were, but quite frankly I'm more concerned with what you are now...~ Could he really have changed like the woman had said? His first thought was to laugh it off but there were some things that really bothered him. Like why had he saved Kakarotto's brat? He hadn't even thought about it before he already had it done. It was like he did it by pure instinct. He shuddered at that thought. That was NOT what his instincts should of been like. They should of been to sit back and laugh as the boy was torn apart by Freezer's beam. He shook his head as if to clear his conscious of the intruding thoughts. ~What if I AM getting soft?~ A bit of consideration and he decided that he would have to test himself to see if the impossible had actually happened. He flew out of the tree and headed towards the Capsule Corporation.... At the Capsule Corporation... Bulma stared out at the moonless sky, mesmerized by it's beauty. Although the moon was no longer present, the sky was still amazingly bright. She sighed to herself as she wished that she had someone to share this moment with. She had broken up with her long time boyfriend, Yamcha earlier that day. She had caught him with another girl AGAIN and she suddenly realized what a waste of time Yamcha was. He was SO immature and wasn't ready for a commitment that she so desperately needed. It hadn't been as hard as she thought it would be, not at all. ~maybe I'm growing up...~ Suddenly, a flash of steel blue caught her eye. She looked up towards the sky and saw Vegeta racing towards the complex. For a moment, she allowed herself to be in awe of the whole scene. The trail that flared behind him looked very much like a shooting star and the whole picture looked very beautiful. She had seen her friends fly many, many times but had never really thought about how much she envied them.~They must have the greatest feeling of freedom. They can just fly away from their troubles...~ She was about to call out to him as he came nearer, but stopped herself as she saw the look on his face. His face was set in dead determination and he looked REALLY mad. She quickly ducked behind the railing and peeped between the bars at him, praying that he hadn't seen her. He suddenly stopped and seemed to consider something. He seemed to snap out of it and to her horror, a glow of ki energy had begun to form around his hand. ~Oh, Kami, please! I don't want to die!!~ Her grip tightened on the bars as her heart began to race. Why was he doing this?! Didn't her generous hospitality mean anything to him?! She had been so sure that he had changed. Tears began to fall down her delicate features as he shaped the energy into a ball... |
