Debbie Byess-"I have been working on gourds fo about a year now and love everything about them.  My tiles show my favorite technique, which is pyrography.  I love nature: flowers, animals, anything natural, so those are the things I chose for my tiles.  The columbine tile has just a hint of color, done with watercolor pencil to bring out the pattern.  The cougar and cub tile is woodburned only.  But I have to say, the very best thing about gourd art is the many people you get to meet and share that love with."

Joey Calamia "My wife got me to do gourds about 6 months ago.. and I honestly can say that I love doing them when I have the time.  These 2 tiles were my first creations and I am glad that they were included in this beautiful wallhanging.  I hope to do more...and if my supply of bandaids last... I hope to get better too.  After all...I AM known in the circles as "the dangerous gourder">

Ray Davis "Jerry and I have raised and sold gourds all over the world for about 20 years now.  I fell in love with painting them and learned so much from my customers.  I have recently started woodburning on them and using leather dyes and watercolor as well as pine needle coiling.  I have learned so much just from being associated with this wonderful group.  The tiles were a lot of fun." www.gourdgracious.homestead.com/gourds.html
Darlene Propp- "My tiles reflect my love of nature and color.  The poppies represent California, and although I am unable to grow them for some reason, I wanted to paint them on a tile.  The other tile takes some liberty with the sun, and sunflowers, both of which we have in abundance in southern CA.  I used a woodburning and gold leaf to portray both in one representation."     www.gourdoozie.com

Elizabeth (Betsy) Ritz-Frith- "..I didn't want it flat!  It came to me while making gourd masks, cut a mini gourd in half, cut the top off to look like half a vase...then drill a few holes in the tile and weave a mini basket, fill these with gifts from nature and call it Nature's Bounty.  I won't say how many hours I put into this little gem, but I feel it was worth it, I enjoyed every minute of it and while creating this one, I came up with an idea for another!  Hope you enjoy looking at my tiny artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it."

Lee Dennis - "I love the changes of the seasons.  The first butterflies are my favorite sign of spring.  Fall is such a colorful time of year, and I love the red maple leaves.  The butterfly tile is arcrylics and fingernail polish, while the red maple leaf is all acrylic.  I have to give a little credit to my art teacher for showing me how to put a bug bite in the leaf.  Thanks teach, (Beverly Taylor).  All in all, it was a lot of fun.  Thanks Russ for providing me the tiles."  Lee's work is on display and for sale at the Tourism Center in Grant County KY.
Sheryl White "My husband and I have been running Gourdheads Shed for about 3 years.  These tiles were a joy to do and I love being a part of a project with other gourders.  Gourds are my life saver and I take them daily for good health."       http://www.leeshertime.com/

Connie B.  "I am 59 y/o, widow, am employed as the staff of two very important cats, and during the day I am a courtroom clerk for the Nevada County Superior court, Famliy Law and Juvenile division in Nevada City CA.  (This is only so I can maintain my two cats in the style to which they have become accustomed)  I live in Grass Valley CA and am fairly new to gourding.  I enjoy painting on gourds and have just recently learned chip carving and pine needle coiling.  I hope to take a class on woodburning and carving with my mini saw in June.  I also enjoy landscaping my yard and working outside when the weather is nice."
