Low Pressure: Continued
I am staring, unable to tear my eyes away. That one throw nearly blinded me with pain. This werewolf must be pounded on too quickly to recognize how much agony he is actually in. The werewolf is coughing black splats of blood with every kick. I am naseous. It doesnt hurt to breathe anymore. I can even move my legs and arms, though it still hurts a little.

Somehow the werewolf throws himself at Maxis, claws extended. This is the first time he has used his claws. They glow dull white and orange in the lantern light. His teeth are bared. His eyes are red. My heart leaps into my throat.

Maxis doesnt seem to move at all. One second, he is frozen, watching the werewolf come, the next he is underneath, fist extended. I smell flesh burn as his fist hits hard enough to go through the werewolf. The wind pushes forward with the blow and the wolf smacks into what seems like an invisible wall.

Thats when I notice the crowd. There are campus police, students, and an older gentleman in what seems like long flapping garments all staring. The werewolf slides down the invisble barrier. He doesnt move again. Maxis watches the body a few seconds, nods, and then begins to sway. He falls, like the strings holding him up are cut. When he hits the ground, the wind just stops.

There is a moment of silence. I am not even thinking of the pain as I pull myself to my feet and run to Maxis side. I see the rise and fall of his chest. My hands are shaking. Im shaking him, but he isnt moving. He doesnt seem badly injured though. Just knocked out I guess.

I hear someone ask the unconscious werewolf for his student ID. I dont care. I just want to get Maxis out of here. So I pick him up and walk over to my blastboard. If I can hold him steady in my arms, I should be able to get him back to the apartment. Better than standing around here. Who knows what other enemies he has skulking about.
