Interview
An Interview with the boys of SFC by Eric Jennings. Special thanks to Reid for typing this mother out and deciphering Billy's mumbles. I used a fisher price recorder for the interview so don't be puzzled by johns fisher price comments. This was done prior to the name change.
Chuckie: were in the Davignons....

Billy: Dont talk so quick the record button doesnt
work that quickly

Chuckie: ok, fine, ill start it over, im starting
again ok, were in the Davignons garage. i just
watched the boys of forever february practice. got
that on recording too. thatll be up on mp3.com in a
week

Alex: in a week?

Chuckie: no longer than a week. anyway, ok here we
are. if you could try to speak loudly and clearly
because this isnt a very good recording device. but
anyway ok.

John: are you gonna put that whole intro thing in?

Chuckie: no im not actually

Billy: is the tape gonna run out?

Chuckie: ok alright hey....

Reid: lets see these (in regards to the questions on
the paper)

Chuckie: no no you cant you have to be surprised. it
has to be improvisational. ok on the spot. ON THE
SPOT!

John: we have to put every sentence of this on the
interview including the beginning of what you just
said

Chuckie: I know ya I know

Reid: Shutup and go!

Billy: thats alot of typing

Chuckie: ok, where did you get your name?

Billy: you wanna, can i take this?

John: who wants to take that one?

Billy: ok, well initially.....

John: face the recorder

Billy: ....we were a band called Third Grade Art
Project.....

Alex: Ya i think it would be a big mistake to say
that. because what if people are like I like that
name WAY better!

Billy: .....which seemed kinda cool in the beginning.
but we all thought it was kinda gay. so like you know.
we were just like struggling over a name. it happened
in the month of february. and alex, i think it was
online. and alex was like you know why dont we do
something cool like forever february....

Reid: he said pretty

Billy:  ....and were all like pretty? ya pretty.

John: pretty was the word

Billy: so you know we were like ya thats kinda cool.
why dont we actually use that. and it worked out
convieniently cuz it sorta took forever to think of a
name in the month of february. so thats my take on it.

Chuckie: alright

John: thats pretty much all of our take on it

Billy: ya thats all of our take on it

Alex: (sarcastic) actually it goes way emotionally
deeper for me

John: oh and also my birthday is in february

Alex: shutup
John: its true

Billy: its the month of love. thats the reason. its
the month of love

Chuckie: ok alright, next is how many songs do you
currently have?

Reid: 6? 5?

John: we have 6 that we play

Billy: ya well i guess you could.....if you wanna go
bank into the forever february bank......

Reid laughs

Billy: .....there really are songs that are playable

John: we have 10 or 11 but we only play 6 of them

Chuckie: gotcha ok alright

John: i guess technically we only have 6 cuz its like
we threw the other ones out

Billy: ya cuz we dont play them

John: ok say you have 11 dollars right.....

(Laughter)

John: .........and then you.....

Alex: you retire them

Chuckie: this is going to be alot to type

John: ...you burn five of those dollars...
Alex: we didnt burn our songs

John: .....well say you get rid of it somehow. you
dont have it anymore. you wouldnt say well i have six
dollars but really 11 but i just dont use five of
those dollars right. so we really have six songs

Chuckie: ok six songs thanks

(Laughter)

Chuckie: how does your song writing process work?

Reid: Alex

John: basically this is what happens. whoever has
lyrics goes hey alex.....

(Alex laughs)

Reid: write something

John: ....come up with something that sounds good with
these lyrics. and then alex brings it to me. and me
alex hash out the guitar parts which is basically alex
going john play this. no im just kidding i actually
do sometimes come up with my own guitar parts.

(billy laughs)

Reid: when it comes to bass alex does everything for
me to do

John: it starts with an idea and then we add onto it

Alex: Ya

Billy: Ya like you know i come up with my own stuff.
me and alex you know its good cuz alex was in a
previous band called one step short as the drummer. so
he has some drumming experience. we were able to work
together on the drumming parts. and we come up with
some pretty creative stuff sometimes. but then ill add
my own flava. the billy cleaver flavor ya know

(reid laughs)

Alex: THE BILLY CLEAVER FLAVA! uh!

Chuckie: ok how has noise ratchet influenced your
music?
