like noise ratchet?
Chuckie: no but you are the same type of band and you
really like noise ratchet
John: yes we do........ um i dont know
Reid: i dont know
Billy: well i think......
Reid: its not like we sit down and go how can we sound
like noise ratchet?
Billy: i think more so.....
Alex: i think we should remember that i am the one
that hates the fact that we are pinned as noise
ratchet. and im the one that writes the majority of
the music. so i dont do it on purpose
Billy: i think we are very distinct from noise
ratchet. i dont think we have that much in common with
them at all
John: i think if anything the way that we are most
influenced by noise ratchet is stage presence
Billy: ya thats what i was gonna say. id say our stage
presence
John: other than that i think we are influenced by
just as many other bands as we would say that we were
noise ratchet.
Billy: ya exactly
Chuckie: what other bands do you see as an influence
or an inspiration to your music?
Alex: Jimmy Eat World
John: well personally....
Alex: Jimmy Eat World and Elliott
John: Jimmy Eat World definitely
Reid: Elliott for sheezy
Billy: oh Nine Days...Third Eye Blind

Billy: Incubus is a big one for me. incubus is a real
big one for me. thats more of my playing style. i dont
like to look at a band and talk about my peformance
cuz then it seems like. man that guy sure liked to
spin his sticks like you know um cyrus bulooki or
something.
(All laugh)

John: im really influenced by sean nelson from harvey
danger. i dont know how directly like much i actually
my vocal...cuz i think hes a really great singer and i
think he writes some of the best lyrics ever. so i
look at him and go wow hes great
Billy: that and freddy mercury
John: actually i listen to him. i dont really look at
him that much
Billy: freddy mercury great performer
Chuckie: definitely ok uh how do you feel about your
live performances?
Alex: weve had like 3 of them so....
(billy laughs)
Alex: and one was a birthday party
Reid: theyre fun
Alex: but theyre really fun and weve gotten alot of
good feedback from it and stuff
John: not like from the amps but from people
(All laugh)
Alex: youre a retard
Billy: you know we like to be energetic you know get
the crowd into it. i believe we saw you in one of the
mosh pits earlier chuckie didnt we. it was fun
(all laugh)
Reid: shutup
Billy: we like to have a lot of energy
John: we feel really good about our live performances
Billy: ya
John: right guys?
Reid: especially the positive reaction of people
Billy: its good to make a first good impression on
people. and a good performance is the best way to do
it
Alex: i think we definitely need more experience in
front of a crowd because personally i think that our
live performances have basically been practice in
front of people
Reid: especially since we dont talk cuz we never know
what to say
John: or we never have time
Alex: the way that we play. the only way the crowd
effects us like so far, is that we get nervous
John: i know that i have a lot more energy when its an
actual performance
Alex: OH ya
Reid: mos def
John: and uh fisher price listen.......not uh..... not
at practice i definitely i dont have as much
energy....but being in front...im looking right at
you..... this is so wierd

John: being in front of a crowd definitely gets my
energy going much higher at least 2% higher
Billy: oh id say 5

Chuckie: why did you intially make the decision to
break up HMH and start this band?
John: cuz we knew that this band....maybe i shouldnt
say that cuz michael....
Reid: we knew that this band wanted to play the kind
of music that we wanted to play
John: ya
Reid: and we had differences in....
Billy: plus we collectively agreed that im better than
mike
Reid: awww shutup
Billy: im totally kidding im totally kidding. mikes a
great drummer
