August 27, 2001 Janssen to Spy With Murphy, Wilson Famke Janssen, who recently dropped out of a role in Men in Black 2, has lined up a new project. The leggy X-Men actress will star opposite Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson in the action-comedy I Spy, a big-screen version of the 1960s TV series that starred Bill Cosby and Robert Culp. Janssen, who got her big break as Russian femme fatale Xenia Onatopp in the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye, will next be seen in the Michael Douglas thriller Don't Say a Word. Production on I Spy will begin mid-September in Budapest, Hungary, according to Variety. Betty Thomas (28 Days) will direct.
July 19, 2001 Famke Jassen drops out of Men In Black 2Famke Janssen has balked at
the "Men In Black." The report said Janssen, who starred in last summer's hit "X-Men," bailed on the production Wednesday. Her representatives said her departure was triggered by an illness in the family. Quickly stepping in for Janssen is Lara Flynn Boyle, who has spent the past five seasons on the hit TV series "The Practice". She got her start on "Eraserhead" director David Lynch's TV project "Twin Peaks." |
