Empaths

Empaths are our most treasured resource in Elanthia.  Although many injuries can be healed with healing herbs, potions, and salves There are other conditions in which the adventurer needs these gentle people.  Poisoning and  nervous conditions such as twitching from scarring are only two of many things we need an empath for.  It is always important to keep our empaths safe even if it means giving your life to save them.  Once you are healed it's always polite to tip an empath.  This is not necessary in order to be healed, but polite nonetheless.  Many empaths know at an early age it is hard for the young adventurer to bestow gems or gold upon them.  I recommend in that case a simple hug and , "thank you very much."  Remember, although an empath is a healer it is not their job to heal you.  It is in fact, in my opinion a favor.  Again, be nice to our empaths, keep them safe from all harm, and try to thank the healer anyway you can or see fit.

FirstAid

  • First aid to me has become the most evil thing in the world to learn and it does count into your survival average. As a matter of fact it also is one of the most important skills to learn. For instance, let's say you have a gushing bleeding wound, you are in the middle of snowbeasts, and you only have 15 in first aid. The answer is, you are going to die miserably. There is not much you can do other than try to train it. Recent changes in first aid have shown that you can no longer walk around with bleeders all day just tending away at your leisure. We now have the disease process. This means if you do not get healed the wound will become infected and you will die.

  • So how do you train this skill? You tend what bleeding wounds you possibly can and as much as possible. If you become infected get as quickly as you can to an empath and get healed. You can also go to the empath guild and listen to classes, this does though ruin your ranger bonus. Ask around the guild for classess as much as possible. Evasion, weapons, hiding, these are skills that can be learned in the wild on your hunt so don't be lazy by taking classes. Utilize the older rangers and learn from them as much as possible.

  • When you do get a bleeder and you will. Type health you will see which area is bleeding. At that point, sit down and type tend my . If you are unsure if you can tend it or if it will become worse starting eating those herbs. They will heal you quicker if dried or in thier most potent form. Try to keep your hands free of wounds. It makes perfect sense if your hands are bleeding then trying to tend a bleeding abdomen is going to end up badly. If you want some first aid expierience go to the swamp near the ferry to RiverHaven. The blood worms there teach well. Some say you need over 100 in first aid to accomplish this, but I succeed with a mere 15 ranks. I do however have well over 100 lessons in skinning so if you are not over 100 skinning try anopther approach. Also, you can go to the tanners near the guild and steal from him. In return he will ever so graciously knock you in the head which causes your head to bleed. I do not recomend this but it does work.
