Tips for New Members (Do's and Don'ts)

  1. If you didn't already, read the rules page carefully.
  2. After your character is accepted and before you post, please register a user name for the board using the name of your character. By registering a username, you can create an avatar image and a personal signature. You can also edit your own posts for errors. People can even send you private messages if they need to. After your character is accepted, your user name will be approved by an administrator and you can begin roleplaying.
  3. Remember that this is an RPG, not a fighting game. We come here to write a good story, not just to battle.
  4. Please pay careful attention to your spelling and grammar its so much easier to read what youre trying to say when the sentence is properly punctuated and doesnt read like one long run on. it is espesisilly hard to understand wen things r mispeled or you use abbrev. (abbreviations)
  5. On a related note, if you see major errors in your post, please utilize the 'Modify' button.
  6. The main planet that this RPG takes place on is called Eden, we are not on Earth.
  7. You may want to avoid the Juin Continent during your first few weeks as a member. DON'T MAKE YOUR ARRIVAL POST HERE!
  8. Don't make the subject of your first post, "Hi, I'm new here"
  9. Don't ask "What are we doing? " or "How does it work?" in your first post. To figure out what's going on, just read a few of the posts on a thread's first page. That should give you enough information to figure out what's going on currently with the story. Your character isn't supposed to know what's happened anyway because they just got there, so it's not important that you know the ENTIRE story.
  10. Don't make your first post your last post
  11. If you're gone from the rpg for a long time, make sure to read what's going on by looking at the latest updated threads, and by checking where you left off. If you want, feel free to jump right into the story again.
  12. Don't write in short choppy "action" sentences. For Example:

    Jaffa fell down.
He jumped up and looked east.
    He sensed Neojiisu's power level.
    He flew to that direction.

Instead, write it like you were writng a story:

After a rough landing in his Saiyan pod, Jaffa's dizziness caused him to tip over. After rubbing his injured posterior, he jumped up and looked to the east. An enormous power level was there, and he knew he should investigate it, so he powered up and took to the air.

Wasn't that more interesting than the first one?

  13. "I'm not a very good writer" is not an excuse, complex sentences and paragraphs are studied by fourth grade. If you're not a fourth grader yet, then...uhhh...I don't know...
  14. Feel free to jump into an existing storyline or to create your own.
  15. If, when you create a new storyline, you don't get any replies right away/at all, don't worry. It's usually because everyone else is occupied with their own lines, not because we don't think you're important. I make it a point to read every new post I see, but I don't reply to all of them because it wouldn't make sense for my charcter to be in five places at once. Sometimes, you can use people's occupation to your advantage. for example, when everyone was fighting each other, I managed to collect three of the five dragon orbs.
  16. Sometimes it's more benficial to jump into a thread with only a few replies rather than a thread with tons of replies.
  17. If your profile isn't put on the Members page right away, don't whine like a baby. The administrators are very busy people with a lot of things to do. They'll get to it eventually. Be patient.
  18. Remember to take hits and play fair
