A little bit about FolkHouse and who we
are...
FolkHouse is a daydream come to fruition. A passing "Hey, that's cool" suggestion
that grew into something more than just a pleasant thought.
Hi, I'm Jerome
Brich. Even as a very small kid, I enjoyed nothing more than getting into my dad's seemingly endless record
collection and seeing what treasures I could unearth. He taught me
there are many kinds of great music out there; don't be limited to just what's
popular at any given time. I'll always be
grateful to him for his fine example and and his eclectic selection of music. Thanks Dad!
So, let's fast forward about 35 years... After playing solo and performing in numerous bands since 1974,
my love for music hasn't diminished. My wife Diane and I purchased a big old house
in January 2000 that's great
for showcasing acoustic music. With a little effort and a lot of good will, FolkHouse was born.
We hosted our first show on May 2nd, 2000.
House concerts are a great way to hear music in a non-traditional
concert setting and a great way to introduce performers to listeners who otherwise may have never had the
opportunity to hear their music.
But my favorite part of hosting house concerts
is to actually hear some of my favorite artists in my own home and be able to
share it with both new and old friends. It also provides our children with an
unusual and unique musical experience. Wow! Is that cool or what?!
