Folk Artists' Guild of South Australia

About Us

The Folk Artist's Guild meets in a fun, friendly atmosphere to work on a variety of folk art projects. The guild caters for all levels and has strong connections with folk art teachers and if required can help refer you to a suitable instructor.

The guild organizes events throughout the year; our annual calendar includes a meeting in January, May, and September with our AGM in July and a special painting Christmas meeting in November. The meetings provide an opportunity to browse our library, view new workshops, hear interesting guest speakers, meet other members and see folk art on display in many forms. In March we hold an annual Awards event showcasing the best of folk art in our annual competition and exhibition. There is an opportunity to paint with the interstate guest judge over the Awards weekend. In June a Charity painting day is organized with all proceeds donated to a charity chosen by the members, this is a fun, relaxed painting experience. An annual Fair is organized by the guild and once a year a painting convention is held over 2 days. The Convention offers a large variety of workshops to choose from, this has been one of the guilds major events and a great time to learn new skills. The Fair is an opportunity to see a display of award winning Folk Art and a range of trade tables.

Our annual fee is $35 and includes the above events and a bimonthly newsletter full of folk art news and patterns.
