It's A Girl! |

Lucky us, our first baby was a girl! She is so adorable. Here are some pictures that we took during the process. I have to warn you, it was a messy process, so if you have a weak stomach take care. |

The mother isn't done yet...she still has to pass the placenta. If it takes too long, the vet needs to come and flush her. Luckily, it only took her around 15 minutes to fully pass it. |

The baby is safe and sound in the stall. The mother and baby will be spending the night here to make sure they do well. |

|
|
Lastly, weighing the placenta and double checking to see if it is all intact, healthy and of adequate size. Any missing parts would probably be in mom, meaning that she'd have to see the vet. Also, a bad looking placenta could mean that the baby might not have developed well. This one, however, is in excellent condition. |
