| Welcome to the 2005 track & field season. This season returns CIF Division I finalist Tara Ross in the discus (5th place). Tara a sophomore in 2004 (36' 3 1/2 & 130' 9) is Dyestat all-state pre-season 2nd team in the discus for her junior year. She is ranked 11th in the CIF Southern Section, and 21st in the state of California based on last season's performances in the discus. Tara finished 2nd at the South Coast League Finals in the discus and 3rd in the shot put in 2004. Tara should contend for the South Coast League & Orange County titles in both events in 2005. Lindsay Orr, a junior, returns along with sophomore's Meagan O'Reilly and Cassy Johnson. Cassy was the frosh-soph league champion in the discus and Meagan was the frosh-soph league champion in the shot put in 2004. Lindsay placed 2nd in the discus and 4th in the shot put on the frosh-soph level in 2004. This season the Mission Viejo Throwers team is very young, but also talented. There are several new freshmen on this year's team, who should make up the frosh-soph team. |
