Aerodynamics lab.
The Aerodynamics laboratory houses an open circuit, suction type Wind Tunnel having a 2D  and 2D Test section. Experiments involving pressure distributions on various streamlined (Aerofoils) and Bluff bodies are performed both at graduate and Post-Graduate level. The laboratory is also equipped with a Hot-Wire CTA measurement system for measurements of turbulence statistics.
Fluid Mechanics lab.
The fluid mechanics laboratory is essentially an Undergraduate laboratory housing several setups demonstrating several fluid flow phenomenon and flow measuring systems like, energy losses in pipes and pipe-fittings, boundary layers, Bernoulli'ss principle, flow rate measuring devices (orifice, nozzle, venturi and rotameters). Experiments involving both water and air as working fluid are performed.
Turbomachines lab.
The turbomachines labs house setups of Hydraulic Turbines and Pumps. The Pelton, Francis and Kaplan turbine setups are installed in the Turbine laboratory while Centrifugal, Reciprocating and Gear Pumps are installed in the Pump laboratory. These setups are utilized to study the characteristics of these machines and the experiments are designed to support the theory course on turbomachines taught at the graduate level.
Computational Fluid Dynamics lab.
The CFD lab is primarily a research laboratory housing several workstations (P-IV, 3.0 GHz, 512 MB RAM) and a server (P-IV, 3.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM) running on Windows and Linux platforms.achines are employed to simulate numerically and study fluid flow problems involving coupled momentum and heat transport phenomena (in both confined and unconfined geometries) with the aid of in-house developed codes.  The research primarily focuses on investigating flow patterns in unsteady flows and establishing relations between the observed bifurcations and instabilities to the problem parameters.  The in-house codes are capable of handling two as well as three-dimensional flow problems spanning the entire range of low-speed incompressible to high-speed compressible flows.  A commercial flow solver package STAR-CD from CD-ADAPCO is also available for flow analysis.
High Performance Computing-Computational Fluid Dynamics (HPC-CFD) lab
This is a state-of-the-art computational laboratory equipped with high end 16 processor SMP server manufactured by Bull Inc. France This server is aimed at running intensive CFD codes both in sequential and parallel modes. the lab is also equipped with two Work stations for pre and post processing jobs related to numerical simulations of fluid flows.
