OUR POND
THE HARD WORK

In order to build our pond, it took 3 men about 2 months to complete.  Everything was hand dug.  A combined total of 20 cubic yards of dirt had to be relocated.  It was a very large project for us.  The pond is 2' deep.  It roughly forms a triangle with the closest side about 20' long.  Two streams lead from the bog to the pond.  Each stream is about 45' long.  The bog is an oval about 6' by 8'.  The hardest part was figuring out where to put all the extra dirt.
This is a picture of Mark and myself installing the liner.  Mark supplied the technical knowledge and also helped with a lot of the physical work.
A variety of gold fish inhabit the pond.  Oh, also a frog moved in before the pond had been filled for a week.  The grandkids love feeding the fish.
IS THE DIGGING EVER DONE?

In the bog we have many species of plants embedded in about 3/4 ton of lava rock.  Two 3900 gal/hr pumps supply water to the waterfall and bog.
