??/01/05: What happened to january..?

Apologies, as the site hasn't been updated since last year... Skinboat have been locked away writting a few new tunes and spear-heading the new 'pirate-core' movement ....
Good simple skanky fun.
Also the band are moving rehearsal rooms, so once it's settled they'll be some cheap-ass recordings to get all the new stuff into some ruff workings as we prepare for our next major studio sessions. Meanwhile more gigs to come in and any blatant whoring for treasure.

25/02/05: Post party suffering ...

It took a few days to recover from the Carlos leaving do party/gig/jam. It was a great night at the grapes, sheffield we got to see a mustard reunion gig with Carl back on bass and later on the dutch one pulled out some buckley. Good stuff all round.... Skinboat got out a few covers, Neil got there first with jet's are you gunna be my girl, but we still managed war pigs with Threshold of Dave Abbot ripping some guest solos. Later in the night hooker bentley and guests pulled out maiden's 2 minutes to midnight and some class Ad/dc to finish. We came out to snow, got radged in the leadmill - good quid a bottle fun - then on to some late night revellry. top night and ruff next few days

21/03/05: Media productions and mental punters ...

Cracking gig at The Room last wednesday - thanks to all who came and a big thanks to the random bloke who was a bit mental (even at soundcheck) - he made piss-taking a pleasure. He even came at us at one point - for not being a covers band and insulting his attention span, lol ... we do our own thing and the apology comes at the start of the set. Later on sweet justice unfolded as he got dragged out by 4 door staff, to then jump on a taxi bonnet and get run over by the police as they came to take him for bed& breakfast courtesy of her majesty... hehe

Also check out the
**Look** section for new pics on the vid and gigs ...
27/04/05: A bit of a breather and a 1st birthday celebration ...

Yes that's right we spent just over a year as Skinbout v3.1.1 and it's time to party. The boat have just moved into a new rehearsal space (location a military secret - it's got a bit of radiation fallout but we're doing experiments in audio-counter-terrorism for a government subsiduary - less said oops). All is well as we get prepared for the next string of gigs and in a few months there'll be some more recordings and an e.p for summer release. The dvd is coming along and there will be a special showing at
the citrus room (formerly the student union on eastgate) gig on monday 9th May - check-out *gigz* for more info and pirates ...
16/05/05: Citrus gig and dvd preview ...

Thanks to everyone at the citrus gig and
hooker-bentley for coming through and hard rockin' with the skinboat providing a well entertaining show at the newly discovered citrus rooms venue last monday ... It's a swanky new venue with a huge screen at the back ideal for a special pre-production glimpse at some new footage. It booms but it rocks and a good night was had by all ... check out the images in the **look** section

06/07/05: Is summer here yet ..?

Back on track as Skinboat officially release the special **dvd** - available now on *choons*.
The Citrus gig could have been busier but we're back there in a few weeks as part of a pre-bom-fest gig (Thursday 21st July) ready for mo' rockin ...

The college outdoor live8 linked gig last friday was a good run and the boat enjoyed jumping around outdoors ... however the local residents of Honeywell weren't warned and loads of complaints came in all day for the noise. We can't wait to see what that local rag TheChronicle will have to say, cos i bet they didn't really know about live8 and the whole reason for loads of people putting on concerts for a bigger issue ... we'll see

more gigs, pics and info soon - meanwhile check out whats on the dvd
27/07/05: Post birthday week - citrus again - and the glorious BomFest

As the summer -kindof- hits the country, it's that month of july again where the b-days hit. House parties and muchos drinking is where it's at, as we wait for the next string of gigs to come in. In the skinboat dry-dock we're planning another stint of recording as we turn our dank practice rooms into a hyper-global studio, the likes of which even coldplay would sh*t a brick (or maybe not) ... There it is -check the dvd and merchandise to keep going ...

The citrus gig with 'King of Mars' was great ... there was a decent audience, mostly of Bom crew were there holding there breath and arses for the festival following on saturday - wish we we're playing it (next year / next year) ...

The bom-fest itself was a monster of a wicked day ... it pissed on Chunkyfest from a great height with 4 or 5 times as many people (1500+) there were 2 stages, 2 dj/jam tents, stalls, beer tent, art, music, non-chav culture. What an amazing day for Barnsley, and it was great to be a part of it. A big thanks to everyone involved ... it's worth doing something for our town and music scene ... [i've knocked up a bit of dvd of the day, but pics will appear soon]
03/08/05: Bom pics and the all new adventures of TimeShip ...

Well straight away ... here are some class pics from the recent Barnsley Original Music Festival.
We didn't play [this year] but it was great to be a part of it, helping the barnsley music scene ... thanks and praises to everyone invloved ... enjoy the pics.

In other news ... the birth of a concept has landed out of the ether in the form of a new sci-fi-action-comedy-drama ...
The furthering adventures of TimeShip ...  tm. Travelling through space and time, crossing-genres, looking for treasure and deep cosmic errors. You see, the timedrive runs on argument and opinion, which is all subjective anyway, but a good discussion will get you to where you need to be. When the debate turns to pies or pasties, we always end up at the 24 hour space garge in the TimeViod tm. With no more series of Trek (for the moment), this baby gets to travel anywhere ... No mention of Doc Who copyright cos there's more of us and we're pirates tramming about in a falic craft crossed with a Galleon. To find things wrong, where no-one has noticed before, and then pointing and laughing ... maybe some space lazer battles too. More information and a special section to the site coming soon.
06/08/05: TurtleZ on the 1's and 2's ...

Last wednesday TurtleZ [aka Glenj] returned to deejaying at The Citrus [old student union] in Barnsley. This could be turning into a regular spot 11pm-2am [after the salsa til close], so just a quick pimp to anyone with nothing better to do on a wednesday night in Barnsley - come along for some different music and no towny crap ... more info
14/10/05: Just a quicky ...

Ahh ... all may appear quiet on the skinboat public front, but the band have been locked away at an almost secret location recording the first batch of songs for a fourth-coming album and hopefully a Xmas pre-release e.p. - all coming from The Unit 9 - we have the technolgy ... and talent can be fixed up with computers ...
Coming soon The adventures of Timeship / 80s Girl / and Unit 9 .... synced with reason, hehe. So along will come the remixes and videos ... Flash 8 has just hit the skinboat office so hang on for the flash series of timeship ... coming soon .... Also next set of gigs probably xmas
.... and those Turtles GleNME nights - wednesdays at the citrus 10.30 on ...
17/11/05: Tmeship pre-lauch sequence initiated ...

No news is good news as skinboat have been beavering away at the studio and getting ready for the Xmas gig .... thursday 15th december @ the Citrus, Barnsley .... mo' info @

Also check out the taster of the new TimeShip flash extravaganza .....
17/12/05: An ending to 2005 ..

Thanks to everyone who came to the Xmas gig at the Citrus - there are no pics or vid so the gig is lost in time and memory as a special event we may visit again cos we enjoyed ourselves and time travel is our thing. The crew of the TimeShip LateShow are now off for some Xmas adventures ... The new tunes will be done for the end of January and more gigs Feb/march and on ... Keep an eye out for the adventures of timeship - looking for a flash host or online out-let in the new year ...

Cheers to
Peg for legs and Sukmunki for coming along for free to support Barnsleys music scene and a big thanks to all those i've supported and helped out this year to make Barnsley a better place for the original music scene
