This is my speedrun page. It is in it's initial phase.
A speedrun is a completion of a video game as fast as possible. This often means playing the game against the developer's intent, skipping major portions of the story (sequence breaking), and taking many attempts to get lucky in risky portions of the run (luck manipulation). Such accomplishments may be found all over the internet, but most often their source is Speed Demos Archive where they are dreamed up, discussed, optimized, verified, and hosted.
Speed Demos Archive is the #1 site on the internet for archiving videos of the fastest video game speedruns in the world. SDA has over 300 games in it's database, with multiple qualities and filetypes for each video. Downloads, torrents, and streaming flash are all free of course.
Almost as important, SDA's Forum is the hub of the speedrunning community. Most speedruns are created out of a collaborative effort from an entire community of gamers - while each run has but 1 runner, tricks and ideas may come from the community, or from studying a previous run. The SDA Forum maintains a high level of forum etiquette and friendliness not found in most forums, probably due to the cooperative drive towards speedrunning, and the discipline necessary to finish a run.
New runs are posted in batches every few days, so speedrun fans often look to the SDA News for fresh content.
