Here's what happened in May:

5-01-01
May 1st! (...Katey!) LOL. Anyways, in terms that everyone else would understand, today was May 1st. It was a very confusing and frustrating day. I almost lost my class ring! But then I found it! Then, I didn't do my math homework (what's new?!), I smacked into Abraham and his saxophone, I almost shiet myself when the speaker made a loud, evil noise, and Jimmy dissed my piano playing! (That somehow made me remember Katie - "I'm the most experienced!") We rehearsed after school for jazz today....because the dinner dance is tomorrow night! We're gonna suck!!!! Sorry, but that's the truth!

Tonight was the dinner dance....and it didn't go as badly as I thought it would. It started off grumblish, though, when I had to drag the keyboard all the way from the band room to the cafeteria! That thing is mad heavy! Even though one member didn't come on time =( it was okey. I thought we played extremely loud though! The solos were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO loud! The trumpets are almost always too loud. Speaking of loud, I played loud tump-te-tumps! (See the dictionary!) That song rules, Katey! =) The people dancing were so cute! And that one couple really made good use of the so proclaimed "dance floor". Hehe. Then I had to lug the monstrous beast; I mean, keyboard, all the way back! Ugh. I had a little blister from carrying it, but it went away now. I'm sure you all care.

Me and Katey thought we had jazz today, but obviously we didn't! Today D is trying to get over an evil virus that has been replicating lately in her cells! I need to regain health for J-day! HEHEHE! I also lost my voice for about 15 minutes today, but it came back! I think it was because I saw a certain "beef"! (LOL Katey, the greens don't match!) Katie's being driven insane b/c she doesn't know of the beautifulness that will happen on Friday! Anyways, I've got to go practice!!! =D

5-10-01
Today was the senior citizen's prom, the last jazz event of the year. At first, I thought the day was gonna be great, but after I made a certain phone call from the evil BCE phone, it sucked. After that, I made a huge rip in my NEW stockings when putting them on, but you couldn't see it, it was on my thigh. So I couldn't wear my short skirt! Good thing I had my long one just in case!!! I started to feel a little better after chatting with many bandies, and we played pretty good. The people singing did a great job too! (I'm proud of you, Erin!) =D Some funny and entertaining things occured....such as the guy spilling coffee, Chris Goerss dancing, and the drum riffs and my horrible fanfare on piano! Ugh! But overall, it was a good time. I can't wait for jazz next year!!!

5-11-01
Well, it seems like J-Day has been terminated. It's just another boring old Friday for me. Katey couldn't even go home on the bus with me or go to the mall today. I'm a very sad D! I waited my whole life for May 11th, 2001! Poor, poor D. C'est la vie. Hey! That rhymed!!! =)

5-22-01
Ugh! My back itches in the spot where I can't reach!!! Anyways...I was grumpy today. I have a huge english thing to do tonight and I had to stay after school. I agreed to the job of copying the summer band music! I started that today, but I wasted time b/c Mr. E was on the phone!! (We're taking up a whole hotel when we go on our band trip to Disney!) Then we had to find the manilla folders to get the instrumentation. In the process we knocked down a huge tuba case in the back room! LOL! Mr. E almost fell on me! Once we found them, Mr. E explained what I had to do, then left. Then Mrs. Rollo left and locked the office door....so I had no copy machine! But at least I got started! Tomorrow is the OP concert which I can't go to..... ='( ='( ='( ='( Boohoo!!!

Today hurt. Tiffany pounced on The Tuffy and sent it flying into my ankle. I have a giant slice that is about and inch and a half long on my right ankle, right where my shoe rubs against it. It hurt like hell and Tiff wasn't even sorry. There was also a concert at Orchard Park which I couldn't go to. It's no fair...I miss John too much. =( And I also found out that I can't go to Anna's concert at Amherst, because it's the night of our chamber concert. I'm having the worst time....it's probably the worst month I've ever had. I've been dissapointed and hurt a countless amount of times. I want the world to go away. The only good thing was the chorus concert. Read about it on the chorus page.

Today was an extremely interesting day. First of all, I got about 5 hours of sleep at the most. Then, we had to go to marching band rehearsal, but it rained, so we rehearsed inside. Then Mr. E told me and Barb to go to the stage. When we got there, Mr. V told us to listed for balance for the trombone choir. So we're like, ok....but he didn't even ask us how it was! But me and Barb got to watch Justin stripping...LOL Barb! The pants! =) Anyways, Mr. E came out, and I think maybe he was a little mad at us....but hey, we just followed V's orders. So we set up the stage and rehearsed....Then 4th period I had trio practice with Lauren and Ashley, and a everyone was like, you sound so good!! Then people tried to play my flute. Then I had to stay after school to make copies of music for summer band again...and I started to do that, and Mrs. Eicher and their two kids came in the office and talked to Mrs. Rollo. Mr. E was like, we need to rehearse something for Mr. Vehar, can you watch our kids? But Mrs. Rollo had too much work so he asked me! I was like...eeeee...ok. The kids were awfully cute and Mr. E plays saxophone very well. I was impressed how soft he played. Afterwards, Mr. E tried to pay me for my time, but I was unsuccessful in my attempts to refuse it. By this time, it was 4:30 and I hadn't copied anything! I then met up with Katey who had stayed after and her mom was late. We looked through the Jazz folders and she stole a certain band pencil from a certain bandie's folder. We fought brutally on the floor over it, and sadly, she won it. Katey also found a very important piece of paper in her folder, which Mr. E would have killed me if he saw it! Mr. V would have too! It was raining when I got picked up.

Not much to say today, besides the fact that Katie spilled MANGO applesauce on her pants (and all over the small ensemble room floor) and she complained about it for the rest of the day. Also, the interviews to find a replacement for Mr. Vehar started today. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill...I hope the guy that ends up with the job knows a few things about music!!! Mr. Vehar will be missed. It was also the night of the dress rehearsal, which went pretty much ok. =) The harp sounds beautiful!!!

5-30-01
Today was almost bad. Upon arriving to school, I was informed that I also had to do part 2 and 3 of my math homework! Barb also needed it! So the search for a bandie willing to let us copy began! Our first subject was Melissa, but she had a different teacher. We then approached little Bradley, but he has Mr. G. (lucky!) Then, we spyed Brian! Me and Barb ran up to him pleading for his homework. Poor Abraham got scared and ran behind the lockers. But we managed to pull him out and copy his work in the LAC. I was extremely happy, because Abraham is smart! =) In more bandish news, the Chamber Concert is tonight! The flute trio lives on! Niagara Falls is amazing!! So is Waking Angels! The piccolo part is cool...in both Niagara Falls AND Waking Angels..even though I don't play in it! =) Happy D, happy D!
