Clarence High School Jazz Ensemble Performs at the Tralf!
On March 27, the Jazz Ensemble got their butts kicked by the OP Checkmates. But that didn't stop us from playing to the best of our ability. We sounded great when Clay Jenkins played with us. There's really not that much more to say...enjoy the pictures that my dad took!

Dinner/Dance
The Jazz Ensemble also performed at a dinner/dance on Wednesday, May 2nd. The proceeds were donated to Hospice.
Senior Citizens Prom
The last Jazz event of the year was the annual Senior Citizen's Prom. It was pretty fun, even though we were referred to as "A Jazz Band" rather than "The Clarence High School Jazz Ensemble". =)

We may not be as well as the Orchard Park "Checkmates", but we might play better if we had a name! The suggestions so far:

However, next year we are going to try to meet and rehearse after school once a week. Y'know, to try and keep up with our competition. ::cough cough Orchard Park cough::
Random Comments/Complaints from Danielle
You know what sucks? Sweethome has Jazz Ensemble scheduled as a class period! They rehearse everyday!!! That makes me mad, because I wish that I could play jazz every day! =( No worries, though, I'm not transferring to Sweethome...I've heard stories about this man named "Doc" and I'm not sure I want chairs thrown at me!!
It also makes me angry when we perform a song we played last year, with different people, and then this year, the new people don't know how the song goes and they don't play it like the people who have graduated. I know it's not their fault, but I just want to scream out in the middle of the song and say, "No no no!! Play it louder!!!" Or something along those lines. It's just somthing that sorta bothers me.
Today (6-18-01), Mrs. R, the band secretary, asked Mr. E what the date for next year's Tralf experience was...but Mr. E has yet to call "Don". =) I can't wait! Anything related to OP is amazing...Carduch is almost as cool as our band directors!! =) Mainly because I can do/say just about anything to him, b/c he doesn't know who I am! =D So he can't get mad at me!...But who could ever get mad at D...�)
