The purpose of this site is to nominate a school media center website for the prestigious LITEhouse Website Award. The LITEhouse Website Award is given each semester to a website which embodies all the best characteristics of a website. Created by Annette Lamb for the IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University) course - L571 Information Archtechture for the Web, this award is given to websites which exhibit Library, Information, and Technology Excellence.

My fellow graduate students and I will nominate a website for the award and will then form committees to select award winners. Gold, silver, and bronze awards will be bestowed on deserving sites from the followig categories:

The Library @Casis serves the patrons of Casis Elementary School, located at 2710 Exposition Blvd, Austin, Texas. The librarian, Julia Campbell, has worked at the Casis Elementary School library since 1996.

The mission of the Austin Independent School District libraries is to nurture a lifelong appreciation of reading and learning by assuring that students and staff can access, evaluate, and use ideas and information effectively.1 The website serves as a means of furthering and expanding the mission of the media center.
