| Mika Hakkinen answered his critics with a dominant
drive to victory at the British Grand Prix. Hakkinen, later admitted to thoughts that he would never win again after his dreadful season so far. Plagued by appalling luck, Mika led the Spanish Grand Prix until the final lap in which his clutch exploded, handing victory to the luck-meister Micheal Schumacher. He has been on the recieveing end of three startline launch control glitches that have seen him out of proceedings before his race had even began. Now that he has a victory behind him Hakkinen can look more positively to the remaining races of the season and help David Coulthard win his first World Championship. The next Grand Prix lies at the Hockenheim circuit in Germany. Mika can head towards this race with enthusiasm and confidence knowing that he has been a past winner of the German Grand Prix in 1998. - Paul Lucas |
