What are the thoughts behind the FlowGI idea?
In Indonesia, a lot of poverty rules.  People who live in a weak position, like widows and orphans mostly suffer under these circumstances.  The foundation FLOWGI want to do something at those situation from the Netherlands.  FLOWGI fights for the orphans, widows and every human that need help for their future. Flowgi operates through all the local differences, in beliefs, culture and other differences.

How does FLOWGI arise?
Ronald Flokstra has a strong involvement with Indonesia.  His parents came from  Indonesia and he has frequently contact with family members living in Indonesia.  Through these contacts he maintain his involvement and he is very concerned about the fate of the needs. It has been always part of Ronalds wishes to follow-up his parents dreams about helping people in need. And he will realize that now. He has taken over the care and sorrow of his parents and has set up together with badminton friends the foundation FLOWGI.  Together with his friends he will do the best they could for projects in Indonesia that really meaningfull for the people in need.

The name FLOGI is formed by F= Funny, L= Love, O= Our, W= Wonderful G= Good, I= Ideas.
Freely translated as "Good Ideas filled with love and spontaneity". And these are what we wish to show in our deeds.

What are our visions?
That every single soul deserves and therefore should be able to enjoy what God has given to the world. But reality shows otherwise. We can help realise these ideas by giving others what we have in excess.

What are our missions?
To put these good ideas, filled with love and spontaneity, into real actions that will help
fight poverty in Indonesia.

Who are our targets?
As quoted from Bible: ''Pure and undefiled religion before God and The Father is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their trouble" (James 1:27a).

We would like to be something meaningful in Indonesia, especially starting
in Yogyakarta for:
1. The orphans
2. The widows
3. The poor families

The orphans:
In Yogyakarta, there are three orphanages that we will help directly in term of contribution of clothes, food, etc. It is also planned in the near future to build schools for the orphans.

The widows:
In Yogyakarta, we will help the widows in the following ways:
- contribution towards their house rent;
- contribution towards their daily expenses;
- assist them in becoming self supporting people in society by providing them with education  or skills (they may, for example, be offered the opportunity to work in one of the orphanages rather than hiring other staff.

How do you contribute?
In the Netherlands: EUR 0,50  / person / day
In Indonesia: IDR 1,000 / person / day
