During the 1800's, there were books and dictionaries on florigraphy - the science of sweet things. These books contained drawings of flowers and their meanings. The arrangements and compositions of flowers and herbs were as significant as the meanings.

Flowers have traditionally allowed the communication of the inner most feelings without having to speak a word! Despite all the changes of the individual meanings of flowers, sending and receiving flowers still remains a ritual today. It continues to be one of the most popular social amenities symbolizing beauty, appreciation and affection.

For women, flowers are a fail-safe romantic gift. However, recent psychological studies have confirmed that flowers are equally liked by men and women.
