entire community. Or if they are camera shy, they will tape it earlier
and air the tape. They also have shows on Sundays, and in the past they
have been known to air movies. The RBC also offers the town a number of
quality channels for the residents viewing pleasure.
Ramea
also has a new water treatment plant in place. The new plant will replace
to old facility that was very out of date, and causing the towns water
to be quite unfit for drinking. The plant will offer residents perfectly
good drinking water through their pipes, and
if they still don't feel safe drinking that they can go to the plant and
fill up with different water. This water is the type of quality that is
found in bottled water. It is purified separately from the rest, and gives
the people bottled water for free.
The M.V.
Gallipoli is another service available to the people of Ramea. The ferry
has pretty much been Ramea's only mode of transportation on and off the
island for 15 years now. They ferry came to Ramea in 1986, and made going
to and from the island much easier. The Gallipoli can take almost 100 passengers,
23 vehicles (2 tractor trailers, 12 vehicles), and it is about an hour
and a quarter steam to Burgeo. The prices for the ferry are very
reasonable, and it's schedule can accommodate for any travel plans. Click

Ramea's town council offers services many services to the town's people. The council consists of the mayor Lloyd Rossiter, the towns manager Wilfred Cutler Jr., and a number of councilmen. Every Tuesday morning the people garbage is picked up by town workers. When there is something that needs to be done around the island these are the people that do it. The council also, as any council would, takes care of all the municipal duties of the town, and makes sure that everything runs quite smoothly.
