Rough Calendar of Events, 2005-06
Many great things on the horizon for the Elvish Language Club this year. Consider: we may do a play for the Tolkien Festival in the spring. Entirely in Quenya, of course. Can things get any more geekily wonderful? Also, we may make a movie. But that's in the future. What are we doing now?

Upcoming Events:

October 4th: General Meeting. Discussed Quenya pronunciation and Tengwar usages.

October 18th: General Meeting. We will talk about nouns, adjectives, and some simple verbs, along with simple SVO sentences. Building on the Tengwar we did last time.

November 1st: General Meeting. More verbs, more tenses. General case discussion, possibly talking about the simpler ones (dative, locational, genitive)

November ??: Movie Night. Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition (with Elvish handouts)

A very useful all-around tool for Elvish Languages. Also, they host forum discussions in Sindarin regularly. You do have to sign up, but it's free and painless:

Some of the stuff on this site is questionable chronologically (we'll discuss this within the first couple lessons) but the grammar summary is pretty good.

Ardalambion is probably THE best site on the web for all of Tolkien's languages. This guy has put a lot of time into the languages and his website, and it shows. I'm basing the Quenya that I'm teaching off of the course on his website.
