FLC Keeper League Rules
page 1

.Baseball keepers are limited to three (3).

.Basketball keepers are limited to two (2).

.Football keepers are limited to two (2).

.Draft order for the first season will be set randomly, each season after that will be pre-assigned based on the inverse order of finish from the previous corresponding regular season.

.If two managers are tied at the end of the regular season, a tie breaker will be invoked to determine draft order.  The manager who leads the most categories in the respective league will have the earlier draft position.  If neither team leads a category or are tied for the number of categories led, then it will go to the most number of categories with a second place ranking.  And so on until there is no tie.

.Keeper rounds will correspond to the number of players designated as keepers for that corresponding league, i.e. baseball will be the first three (3) rounds, basketball and football will be the first two (2) rounds.

.After the keeper rounds of the draft have been completed, all future rounds will be completed in the normal fashion, with all remaining players being available for draft by any team that is currently selecting.

.Players drafted in the first three (3) rounds for baseball, first two (2) rounds for basketball and football AFTER THE DESIGNATED KEEPER ROUNDS, will not be eligible for keeper status.

.During the keeper rounds, any manager drafting a player that is not designated as  one of their keepers will be required to trade said player in one of two ways (A)  if the player was a keeper of another team, the offending manager will be required to trade that player to the team that originally designated the player as a keeper.  (B) if the player was not designated as a keeper by any manager then the offending manager will be required to trade that player to the first manager who claims said player after the completion of the keeper rounds.  In both cases, the manager who will be receiving the incorrectly drafted player will be REQUIRED to trade whom ever they draft in the corresponding spot.  In example (A), if a manager's keeper has been drafted, what ever player they draft in that keeper spot will be the player they MUST trade.  In example (B), (we'll use the recent fiasco) LaDainian Tomlinson is drafted during the keeper rounds.  Once the keeper rounds have been completed, the first manager, WHEN IT IS THEIR TURN TO PICK, who "claims" LT will then retain LT's draft rights and will then make a selection that will be traded for LT.  Once the pick has been made, the deal must be completed.  This will now be referred to as pulling a "Zach".

.All trades will be approved via the "auto approval" feature in the league which corresponds to the review time in the league settings.  If a majority of the active managers disapprove of the trade, it will not be allowed.

.Any trade that is accepted by both managers before going to the league will be required to run its course.  A manager will not be allowed to back out of a trade once accepted.  This will be referred to the Rectal-Cranial Inversion or "The Kaycee" rule.

.Any person wanting to join the FLC Keeper leagues must first be a member of the regular FLC leagues.  Once they have shown an adequate participation level, and have shown an interest in the keeper leagues, then they will be invited to join the FLC Keeper league(s).

.In the event that a manager wishes to join a keeper league during the off season: Yahoo does not allow an odd number of teams in their football leagues.  If someone is wishing to join the football league we MUST have two managers join.  Baseball and basketball do not have this stipulation.  The new manager(s) will be allowed to choose any players from the corresponding league for their keepers, except for the following: 1) any player already designated as a keeper by another manager.  2) any player not eligible for keeper status due to draft position.  3) any player placed on the Protected List.  The Protected List will be made up of players chosen by the existing managers that they designate as not being draftable.  The number of players submitted by each manager will correspond to the number of keepers for that league (baseball-3, football/basketball-2).  In the event that not all active managers are able to submit their PL players, the residing commissioners of all FLC endorsed leagues will select the remaining players.  This list is updateable each season, but once a manager submits their players for the PL list the selections cannot be revoked.  Any manager joining a league will automatically be assigned the last draft position for the first non keeper round.  In the event that more than one manager wants to join a league, the "draft" for keepers will be determined based on the FLC power rankings through the current date, including any in season leagues.  The manager with the higher power ranking will have first choice for "keepers" while the lower ranked manager will retain the earlier draft position in the actual draft.

.Dishonesty will not be tolerated in any manner.  Discovery of such action will result in dismissal from the league once each member has voiced his or her opinion, including the supposed guilty party.
