Growing Naturally

Flatrock Botanicals is a locally owned farm located on Three Island Pond Road in Flatrock, Newfoundland, growing annual and perennial flowers, vegetables, and culinary and medicinal herbs for home growers.

All our plants are grown organically, in our greenhouse or in the field to be able to offer you the most natural product possible. The plants that we offered have been tried and tested to perform well in Newfoundland's climate.

Farm Fresh Brown Eggs

Our 'girls' are proud to offer fresh, brown eggs. These hens are heritage breeds of Plymouth Barred Rocks and New Hampshires and are raised in free run pens, with access to fresh air and natural vegetation.

Also fresh turkeys are available seasonally.

All poultry are raised on as natural a diet as possible, without hormones or cage confinement and we ensure that each bird has ample space, comfort and attention.

Over 55 varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs are grown at Flatrock Botanicals and are increasing annually.

What Else Should I Know?

Herbs have been used as food and as medicine for thousands of years. They are safe, effective and gentle on the system. Unlike synthesized pharmaceuticals, herbal medicines have few side effects and are an alternative to the majority over-the-counter drugs available at any pharmacy or department store.

A herbalist can offer suggestions on easily available herbs to treat colds, skin conditions, headache, muscle strain, arthritis, menopause and many other disorders. Herbal treatments can be drunk as teas or diluted tinctures, taken in capsule form or applied as salves, creams or liniments.

Herbs work by treating the symptoms and allowing the body to use as little or as much of the herbal properties to return the system to physiological functioning.

Herbal treatments are safe, affordable, natural and easy to obtain. You have a pharmacy in your own backyard!
