My name is Ben Peterman. I am going to be a Senior in high school and will graduate in June of 2008. I got started in web design in Jr. High. It was a simple computer class that taught the basics, HTML being the basic. From then on, I started toying around with Notepad and making simple, personal websites. After two years of learning the basics of HTML code, a friend introduced me to a program called Dreamweaver MX. The program was a lot like Microsoft Word, I could simply drag and drop pictures and text onto a page and have a really nice website. Along with learning Dreamweaver, I started learning the basics of website building. Eventually, I was introduced to an even better program that made website design and construction very simple, it was Microsoft FrontPage 2003. That program allowed me to design and edit pages very quickly and efficiently. Onto the current times..July of 2007! My program of choice to build a website now is Microsoft Expression Web! The latest program on the market! I am still learning the program and of course, everything there is to learn about website construction. -Background of Flash Over Designs When I graduate, my goal is to become a full time firefighter/paramedic. I will be a fourth generation firefighter in the family! All my life I have been surrounded by the fire service. My first two websites I have made were for fire departments. After a while, I needed a website and name for my services. Naturally, I chose a fire service term...Flash Over.. Now, you're probably wondering why my website is www.geocities.com/flashod and not www.flashod.com ....well it is very simple. Since I am just starting out, I want to develop a list of customers so that way if I buy a domain name and server space, it will be well worth the money.
