| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| November 1, 2006
Amy joined Corals class at the King Center in Melbourne to see the play A Midnight Cry and she was amazed at the quality of the performanceif you asked Coral, she said, It was good. Ian had a short soccer practice, which was a scrimmage that Jordan got to take part in with the team. November 2, 2006 After school, Amy took all the kids to the dentist to get their teeth checked (No, really, we thought they got their feet checked?!?!). Coral later had her last practice of the year. November 3, 2006 Amy was in charge of getting the kids for gymnastics because Dan went out in the afternoon with some friends from work for Franks birthday. Fun was had by all except Ianhe is no longer doing gymnastics, so Dan picked him up after his fun was done about mid-way through the classes. November 4, 2006 We finally didnt have an early start at the field and got there at about 11 AM, so we made sure to relish the relaxing morning with a big breakfast. The bad news was the game was back at our old stomping grounds of Rockledge, the good news was it was Corals last game of the season. After the game, the team had a little party to celebrate the end of the season and the Florida Remberts used it to celebrate the end of soccer with Ians last game next weekendwoo hoo! On the way home, we stopped at BJs and then headed home and worked on presenting Corals science project, which is due on Monday. November 5, 2006 After church, Dan and Amy dropped the kids off at CCD, went to the St. Marys-sponsored breakfast, and did the weekly food shopping. After we got home, we finalized Corals science project poster-board, enjoyed the beautiful Florida weather, and watched as the Steelers lost their 6th game of the season. Amy and Dan closed the day by doing each others hair. November 6, 2006 A rainy Mondayfelt like fall minus the soccer practice, woo hoo! November 7, 2006 Happy Voting Day!!! Amy had an early doctors appointment, so Dan was in charge of getting the kids to school. Luckily, voting takes place at GEMS, so Dan killed two birds with one stone and took Ian with him to vote after he dropped Coral and Jordan off. After work and school, Amy did her duty of picking up the kids and the joy of once again having nothing to do at night overcame us all. November 8, 2006 After school and work, it was a momentous occasionthe final soccer practice of the year. Ians team had their practice and will have the final game on Saturday. As you can tell, we are excited to slow things down on the extra circular activities front. November 9, 2006 Once the school and work days were done, we were done for the day. Dan competed in a poker tournament, but finished 6th out of 9 players, which was pretty good considering he only won 4 handsthats the way it goes when you dont catch any cards all night. November 10, 2006 Happy Vets Day!!! Coral, Jordan, and Ian had to go to school, but Dan and Amy had the day off from work, but that didnt mean they didnt work. After getting the kids to school and eating breakfast at the Cozy Corner Caf, they worked most of the day and caught up on some much needed yard work. After getting cleaned up, it was time for gymnastics and then we went to family movie night at Destiny (Ian and Jordans old preschool). The movie for the night was Cars and the kids enjoyed popcorn, hotdogs, and other assorted snacks while the watched the movie with their old friends. November 11, 2006 The day started off with another early soccer game for Ian, but the difference this time around: it was the last time. After the game, we had a little party for the team with trophies and doughnuts for the kids and gifts for the coach. After the party, we had a little celebration of our ownwe packed up and spent the day at Ron Jons with the family plus Marisa. The first part of the day we were poolside, then we went to the beach, and finally we were in the playroom. After all that, we had to re-energize ourselves with pizza from the Ron Jons Grill. November 12, 2006 With all the action of the last two days, we couldnt get up in time to make it to church, but did make it to CCD/Publix. After we got back from Rockledge (Dan and Amy even did a quick drive-by of the old house to kill time and were happy to see what we left behind), we didnt do much except relax around the house and finally watched the Steelers win a game. November 13, 2006 Back to the grind in between two short weeks. November 14, 2006 After work and school, we received some great NEWS about Coral's science fair project. If your project achieves a prize at the science fair competition, you get an invitation to the ceremony and Coral did and we all went to witness her accept her honor. Coral won 3rd prize in the category of 4th grade, environmental. After the ceremony, we went to Pizza Hut and celebrated. November 15, 2006 Not much to report for today, which is not a bad thing. November 16, 2006 The only thing to report for today is another cold front that passed through and brought rain and will follow with more autumn-like temperatures. November 17, 2006 Jordan welcomed Dan and Amy to her class' Thanksgiving Feast where we all dined on turkey and all the fixin's. After we got a belly full of fabulous food, Dan and Amy then headed over to Alpha Academy and watched Ian and his school-mates as they preformed a Thanksgiving play. Later, it was time for gymnasticsAmy took Jordan and Coral to their classes while Dan and Ian stayed home and fixed a little problem with the garage door. Coral also stayed after her class with Lauren to do open-gym, while the rest of the family watched movies. November 18, 2006 Once we all got up and ready for the day, we headed to KSC for Family Day. Each KSC-employee was able to bring a car-load of family and friends to visit and tour the site. The Florida Remberts arrived at about 10:30 AM and left at 3 PM after we visited both Amy and Dans work areas, the Rocket & Missle Mueseum where we also met Astronaut Pam Melroy, Lauch Complex 34 where the Apollo I accident took place, the Vehicle Assembly Building, and the Launch Control Center Firing Rooms. There were many other places and things to see, but we ran out of time. November 19, 2006 We took another week off from church services, but Amy mad up for our sins by volunteering at CCD in Jordans class. While Amy and the kids were at CCD, Dan did the weekly shopping. The next agenda item was the Steelers game, which was a win over the Brownies in a close onemaybe they are on a roll now. During the late game, Amy took Coral, Jordan, Ian, and Erin to the movies and saw Flushed Away. The kids liked it and Amy said, It was cute. November 20, 2006 During this short week, the temperature drops ruled the conversation. November 21, 2006 Amy joined Jordans class on their study trip to Mimis Crafts where they crafted-it-up and even made plates, but this was only a half-a-day trip, so she returned to work in the afternoon. November 22, 2006 The last day of work and school before our little vacation started was pretty uneventful. Dan went to the Melbourne Poker Room and left Amy to her movies and nap-time on the couch (one of her favorite things to do). Poker was not too kind this time around, but there is always next time. November 23, 2006 Happy Thanksgiving!!! Once we were all up and out of bed, we started off by watching the parade, then some football, then some more football, and then because we have the NFL Network, we watched even more football. Oh yeah, we also had a nice turkey diner where we gave thanks for our health and family. Later, we joined the Taffers (Laurens family and our neighbors) at their house for dessert and nice conversation while the kids played. November 24, 2006 After breakfast, it was time for our annual family traditionno, not going to the mall with the rest of civilization; we decorated our house with Christmas garland. This took most of the day and by the time we were finished we ordered a pizza and watched Christmas movies. November 25, 2006 Dan went to the final UCF (University of Central Florida) game at the Citrus Bowl (next year they play at a new facility) with a few UCF Alumni, Frank, Doug, Krista, Justin, and the only other non-Alum, John. The tickets were in the front row at about the 20-yard line, we made it on the jumbo-tron (twice), it was a great time, and the Golden Knights even pulled out a victory. While Dan was off losing his voice, Amy took the kids to see "Happy Feet", which the kids said was pretty good, but Amy didn't and shopping for some much needed clothes. November 26, 2006 With no CCD classes this week, it made it that much easier to miss church yet again. We sure could have used the piety with the days occurrenceswe spent most of the day out in the yard learning that complete strands of our Christmas lights didnt make it through a year of storage. After an hour or so of replacement, we gave in, bought new lights, and finally put them up. Once they were up and most of them were in working condition, it was time to watch the Steelers get clobbered by the Ravens to add to the frustration of the day. The best part of the day was the roast Dan made while Amy did the weekly grocery shopping. November 27, 2006 Back to the grind November 28, 2006 It seems that the lack of daylight has affected our interest levelin other words, not much to report on this somewhat gloomy November day. November 29, 2006 After work, Amy kept busy by shopping for Christmas and Christmas parades (see the December 2nd entry), while Dan served up the final rations of the Thanksgiving meal for dinner. November 30, 2006 We battled with another bout of head-lice, which had attacked the scalps of Coral and Amy. We are confident we kept the enemy contained and have eliminated them, but we will be diligent in our efforts to watch for the resilient foe on other manes. |
