Happy 7th Birthday to Coral!!!
Coral couldn't wait, so we opened her presents first thing in the morning!  After that, we sang "Happy Birthday" with a candle in one of the world famous Dan's Chocolate-chip Pancakes.  The rest of the day was spent relaxing by the pool and even going out to the birthday girl's choice of restaurants...yes, you guessed it, Wendy's again.

September 2, 2003
It was parent-teacher conference time for Coral...Ms. Therrien said that Coral is doing great in school and is an above-average student!  After the short meeting, Dan went to pick up the kids while Amy was off to school for a test.  When Dan picked-up Jordan, she wasn't feeling good so she laid down all evening (boo hoo!), while Amy was getting a "100%" on her first test (woo hoo!)  Meanwhile back in Pittsburgh...it was the day of the final walk-down for the sale of our soon-to-be-ex-house!  Everything was good, so we are a go for sale.

September 3, 2003
Today was a very interesting day...Jordan stayed home because she is sick, so Amy had the morning shift with her and Dan took the late shift.  Then we found out that the closing on our Pittsburgh house got postponed until Friday...boy, were we pissed!  After Dan got home, it was time for Jordan to see the doctor and find out she has an ear infection.  Later, we picked-up Coral to find out she is also not feeling good.  Ian is doing good getting over his sickness.  So there you have it, it has now passed through us all.  After work, Amy went to a "Brownie's kick-off meeting"...looks like we will be very busy with that this year.  The night-time was the worst...one kid up after the other.  We hate sicknesses, it never seems to end!

September 4, 2003
Another split-shift day for Dan and Amy because both Jordan and Coral were home sick.  Some more bad news about the closing...they are still not ready and won't be until next week sometime.  My advise to you is, don't ever use Pennsylvania Land Titles for your closing!

September 5, 2003
Another sick day for Coral and Jordan, but Ian is attending school like a good little boy.

September 6, 2003
Happy Half-Birthday to Ian...he is now the big 1 & 1/2 years old!!!
Coral felt better this morning, but by the time Dan got back from the store and signing some final papers for the Jeep, Jordan was feeling subpar and got sick like Coral did on Friday.  Ian is still in great spirits and running around bothering the sickies.

September 7, 2003
Jordan is now getting over the sickness and everyone is on the path to wellness (knock on wood).  So Dan took the chance, while they were all resting to get better, to go watch the Steelers win their first game of the year.

September 8, 2003
Well, we finally got back to the grind with all the kids healthy...woo hoo!

September 9, 2003
Ian and Coral had their 18-month and 7-year check ups, respectively.  Both are doing good...Ian now weighs in at 23 lbs and 37 inches tall and Coral is 44 lbs and 47 inches.  After finally getting some "well" doctors visits and not for the sicknesses that never seem to leave, Amy got to work and then after work, Dan picked-up everyone because Amy had school.

September 10, 2003
After a pretty normal day at work, school, and daycare, we all got home and Coral started to get a belly-ache.  What we thought was food-poisoning from eating at the school cafeteria, "came up" to be completely wrong...yes, you guessed it, she was sick again.  Oh well, that streak lasted long...a whole 3-days without missing school or work.

September 11, 2003
Never forget...
Amy stayed home with Coral and took her to get some tests done at the doctor's.  The tests showed that nothing was seriously wrong, so it must just be another damn virus.  The other two went to school/daycare with no problems, so that's good.

September 12, 2003
Coral was back to school today, so that is good news...today is Friday, so that is good news...we are happy to have things back to normal...the good news just keeps on coming.

September 13, 2003
Coral, Jordan and Amy went to gymnastics this morning, and after they got back, Dan and Ian joined them for the Brownie's Picnic and Fair.  The kids had fun playing games and running around  and the adults were just plain tired when it was over.

September 14, 2003
Coral and Amy went to church and today was the first day back to CCD for Coral.  While Coral was at CCD, Amy attended the parent's meeting.  Carol and Jim (the old babysitters) watched Ian so the rest of us could finally go to Coral's Bowling Birthday Party...woo hoo!  We all had fun bowling and eating pizza and cake.  The lanes were equipt for kids...they had bumpers so that there would be no gutter-balls.  Jordan even had fun rolling the ball down the lane.

September 15, 2003
It is so nice to be able to go to work, school, and daycare without any sicknesses!

September 16, 2003
We got some tidbits of good news today...first, Dan got 2 new loans at the credit union for the cars to lower the interest rates and payments (Caravan @ 3.9% and Jeep @ 2.99%); second, Coral will be receiving another "Silver Dollar Award" next Monday, we are so proud of her; third, Amy got another A on her test in school, a 96 to go with her 100 from the last test; and forth, looks like we are going to dodge Hurricane Isabel.

September 17, 2003
Happy Birthday to Tim and Shannah!!!
Today Coral had her first Brownie meeting, so Dan went in early to take her and pick up the kids at school.  He even had time before Amy and Coral got back to make a spaghetti dinner.

September 18, 2003
On the way to work, school and daycare, Coral lost her 6th tooth and Amy was just happy to be there for the event.  Coral also had her Mathathon, which she did really well on, got 47 out of 50 problems correct, and generated almost $150 for the school...way to go Coral!  Isn't it funny how we've been in Florida for 3-years and Pittsburgh has been hit by more hurricanes than we have (well, I guess it's a tropical storm by now, but you know what I mean).

September 19, 2003
We finally reached the weekend, so to celebrate, Dan left work a little early for a happy hour beer or two and then Amy picked up Dan, Coral, Jordan and Ian.  Before we headed home, we stopped at Wendy's for some Friday happy hour meals and got the weekend going.

September 20, 2003
Today was a very busy day...it started with Dan going to the bank to make what will hopefully be the final mortgage payment on the Pittsburgh house, then to Wal Mart for a gift for Parker (Coral's classmate), and then home to pick up the party girl.  While Dan and Coral were at the party, Amy, Jordan and Ian went for a quick visit to the doctors to find out that Ian's ear infection was back, but not too bad, so he got some medicine for that problem.  Then we all met up at the Shaffer's for a party there for the kids' birthdays (Tuffer in August and Erin later this month).  After we all got home, it was time to relax and catch-up on the weekly laundry.

September 21, 2003
Dan and Coral went to church and CCD/Publix first thing in the morning.  Dan missed the game at the bar because the dryer stopped heating up.  Once he took the dryer apart to look at it, he realized that he knows nothing about household appliances and should get it fixed by a professional.  After watching the Steeler game on the internet (well sort of), he joined the rest of the family in the pool on this warm and sunny day.

September 22, 2003
Today started off with a great bang and big NEWS...Dan and Amy dropped off Coral at school and she had no idea that we would be seeing her again real soon.  We all met up again at the "Silver Dollar Award" breakfast.  She was surprised and we were both very proud of her.  This is her second time getting the award and that is also something to be very proud of also.  Of course, she got to choose dinner, so we got Burger King for a change.

September 23, 2003
A normal Tuesday...Amy gets the kids in the morning and Dan gets the kids in the evening because of Amy's class (in that I mean in school, not her elegance).  Not sure which is worse, getting them going in the morning or slowing them down at night?

September 24, 2003
Early to work and early to home for Dan today...he needed to stop at Home Depot, get the back yard grass cut, and greet the Cocoa Beach visitors from the great, not-so-white-yet north, the Manions.  Later, Dan watched a newly pruchased movie "Fight Club", while Amy did some shopping.  We hadn't seen the movie yet, but heard good things, so we got it...not sure how good it is, but it is different than any other movie and it has a twist that was totally unexpected.

September 25, 2003
We got the dryer fixed today...wasn't too bad, just a fuse that went south (Dan could have fixed it, if he knew where it was).  Good NEWS on the Coral-education-front...she got 3rd place in the mathathon (because it was just a message, we are not sure if that is 3rd overall, in her class, in total money, or math problems correct?) and she also got a great report card.

September 26, 2003
Today was Coral's last day of class before her big break, so they celebrated by having a Karoke Party.  Dan celebrated by going on the gambling cruise and winning some money!

September 27, 2003
Coral had gymnastics in the morning, but we didn't do much in the afternoon because of rain.  Dan and Amy got to enjoy the evening out for shopping, dinner and drinks, but didn't get to put the top down on the Jeep do to the threat of rain all night.

September 28, 2003
Amy and Coral went to church and then split up for CCD and shopping (eventhough Amy could use some Catholic Religious education since she doesn't know the "real story").  In the afternoon, Dan went to watch the game and Amy and the kids went to the beach.  Hard rains ended both activities early...Dan left the sides out of the Jeep and got the whole thing wet.  Later, Coral had another birthday party to attend in Palm Bay for a classmate.

September 29, 2003
Coral's school daycare decided to start a "camp" for the break, so Coral's first day was today and she loved it!  Dan spent the day traveling to Raleigh-Durham, NC for a meeting with the DoD (Department of Defense), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and NASA (if you don't know who that is, you are on the wrong site) to help the EPA write our regulations...very exciting and cutting-edge stuff that not many people get to do.

September 30, 2003
Dan continued with his workshop in North Carolina while Amy and the kids were at home.  After work, Amy had another test and got another 100%...aren't we proud of her!
