The Florida Remberts decided to celebrate Dan and Amy's 18th anniversary of dating in a very appropriate way...they spent the day at Kennywood!  This is the place where it all started.  The kids had tons o' fun and we stayed from 11 am until 9:30 pm!

June 2, 2004
We are attempting to make this trip appear as if we are on vacation since it will be the only one for us this year, so we went to the pool at the Hawthorn Suites, but we forgot one important thing...we are in Pittsburgh and the weather did not cooperate.  We did spend more time in the hot-tub before moving the party to the room.  We got a visit from Lorie and Gene and Judy also to make sure we were having fun!  Later, we attended a get-together at the newly built Spinelli house.  All our old friends from the S. Linwood Hood were there to help christen the home.

Today we picked the Pittsburgh Zoo as the fun spot.  It seems that everytime we left the hotel it was nice enough to stay and swim...oh well.  Later, Dan had to pick up his tux and then head off to Dwain's "bachelor" party.  A few friends showed and we ate, drank, and Dwain even told some crazy stories to his new "friends-in-law".

Happy 10th Anniversary to Dan and Amy...Woo Hoo!!!
Today we got in the "wedding mode".  First we moved from the Hawthorn Suites to the Holiday Inn, while Amy had a nail appointment.  Then we headed off to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  One note of advice, if you ever get married at St. Phillips, watch out for the "Wedding Nazi"...she will take more than just your soup away.

THE WEDDING DAY!
It was fun, but too quick.  The day went kinda slow with the girls here and the boy there and the cool rainy day all around, but it went very smooth.  Once we got to the reception and the party got going, it went so quick!  It seems like we danced to 3 songs and talked to 5 people.  The after-party went good too...it started in Amy and Dan's room but we quickly got booted from there for having too much fun.  In the Holiday Inn's defense, they did furnish us with a little room to move our party and continue the fun and laughter.

June 6, 2004
Marie and Dwain had to open their presents before they left for Mexico...sounds like an excuse to have a party to the Remberts...so we did!  It was a nice day so we all relaxed outside and enjoyed the newly-weds presence and presents.  We also got to witness Marie leaving home for the first time to live in her new apartment with Dwain.

Cross-country Travel Day Part II:  We had clear sailing the whole way and made great time hopefully for the last time in a long time!  We left at 4:55 and arrive home at 8:15.

June 8, 2004
BACK TO THE GRIND....BIG TIME!  We were not happy to get back, but it had to happen.

June 9, 2004
Dan had an air inspection from the regulators today and it went well.  He also has 2 summer interns to mentor this year, so look for more stories of that experience soon.

June 10, 2004
Today was Coral's last day of school, so we got her final report card and some great NEWS came with it!  She will be going to summer camp at the school so not much will be changing.

June 11, 2004
Today was the government's day of remembrance for President Regan (who died on the 4th), so Dan and Amy were one of the few (and the proud) at work, along with all the other contractors.  After gymnastics for Coral and Jordan, Dan went to a Texas Hold 'Em poker game and lost by going all in with a straight...for those of you out there that know that 4-of-a-kind beats a straight, welcome to the club.

June 12, 2004
We all did some work around the house today and then we were all off to Sierra's birthday party at KARS Park.  It was a beautiful day, but a hot one, but we kept cool with water balloons.

June 13, 2004
Amy, Coral and even Jordan attempted to go to church, but they switched schedules on us and are now on the summer schedule, so they just did some food shopping instead.  After they got back, we all swam and swam and swam some more.  Today was the first time that Jordan jumped off the side and swam by herself with her swimmies...woo hoo!

June 14, 2004
Happy Flag Day!!!
We took in the Jeep for an oil change, but the rest of the day was uneventful.

June 15, 2004
After the day's activities, we came home, ate, and that was when the fun began.  With Coral in the back watching TV, Jordan and Ian finishing up their dinner, and Dan starting the dishes, Amy came streaking through the kitchen in her bathing suit and proceeds to jump in the pool.  Needless to say, the rest of us soon joined her with an evening swim and frolicking.

June 16, 2004
After work, Dan picked up Coral and cut the grass in the back yard.  After Amy came home, she did some more yard work while the kids played on the swings.

June 17, 2004
Take yesterday and add grilling out with Coral's favorite corn on the cob, but subtract playing on the swings (also Dan did the front this time around).

June 18, 2004
Dan took one of his interns, Nicolas and Doug, to a local watering spot for lunch, Shuttles and then both of the interns went with him on a tour of the Obital Processing Facility.  Later, Dan continued in his chauffeuring ways by taking Coral and Jordan to gymnastics.

June 19, 2004
The morning started with a lot of cleaning and the arrival of our new coffee table...woo hoo!  Later, the Shaffers and Lalitssa (the other intern) came over for some 'ritas and swimming.

June 20, 2004
Happy Daddy's Day!!!
The Shaffers joined us again for some more 'ritas and swimming until the big rains came again and washed the fun out (along with the spiders and everything else).

June 21, 2004
Back to the grind of summer fun for the kids and work for the adults.  Amy had a good check-up at the dentist's office.  We also got some more big rains, which foiled the plans of cooling off in the pool after dinner.

June 22, 2004
Not much going on, so it must be time for a quick kid update.  Ian is starting to listen a lot better and is almost able to do some serious communicating...we'll see if that ever happens.  Jordan is the talent of the family...she is always walking around the house singing at the top of her lungs, so look for her to be up on stage at one point or another.  Coral is showing signs of pre-teenagism (if that is a word)...all she wants to do is watch TV and boss her siblings around.

June 23, 2004
A new Family Tree was posted to welcome some new members of the family in the Florida Rembert way...see if you can pick them out.  Speaking of family, today would have been Rich and Deni's 3rd Anniversary.  There was also a successful launch of an unmanned rocket today.

June 24, 2004
The Florida summer heat has forced us to get more swim-time to cool off after a hard day's work...after completing dinner, but before tubbie-time, you can find us in the pool!

June 25, 2004
To start off the weekend properly, we all jumped in the pool for the evening.

June 26, 2004
After some morning chores including Jordan's first ever haircut and Coral's 14th or 15th haircut, we were all in the pool by 11 AM.  Dan and Amy are really enjoying swim-time now because both Ian and Jordan can swim by themselves and don't have to hang on to them at all.  Ian is even jumping off the side (of the pool) by himself...woo hoo!  We stopped to break for lunch and couldn't get back in because of the storms.  Later, the Durhams came over for some play-time for the kids, talking for the adults, and even dinner.

June 27, 2004
Jordan insisted on giving church a shot with Amy and Coral, but it proved to still be too long for her...we may try again later.  After church and lunch, the threat of rain kept us out of the pool once again.  We did a few things around the house, but mostly laid on our butts.

June 28, 2004
It was time to do a quick trim of the front and back yards, so Dan and Coral headed home a little early to get home and complete this task (well Dan did, Coral just watched TV).

June 29, 2004
Not much going on, just Coral getting perturbed at her brother and sister for wrecking her makeshift fort in the living room.  This mighty citadel was made from a bed sheet and was protecting the corner full of toys until Ian and Jordan arrived.

June 30, 2004
Dan has been getting many ad-ware and spy-ware infections at work to go along with the virus that has completely disabled our home computer and this is the reasons for the lack of updates on the diary.  Not much went on today, but it is tough to remember.
