Sweetgrass

Hierochloe odorata

Sweetgrass is a native grass, but it is not really a prairie plant. It can spread agressively through rhizomes, so it needs its own area. Sweetgrass loves full sun and lots of moisture. These recently planted plugs will fill in an area two to three feet in diameter in one year.
