Prairie Phlox

Phlox pilosa

Most of our Prairie Phlox are growing in dense compacted soil with a fair amount of clay. These plants will tolerate a wide range of soils from wet mesic to dry. Our Prairie Phlox are generally a foot high, but they will grow to 2 feet in good conditions. Behind the phlox in this photo are some Large-Flowered Penstemons.
