Originally, this was on my LiveJournal, but I've moved it here so I don't have to worry about it getting too long for one post. Vocabulary, language usage, culture, etc. particularly for writers from other places who want their fic to have an air of authenticity.

Azalais wrote this for the Lightning War RPG on Live Journal, but I happen to think it's the clearest, best argued analysis of the Hogwarts houses (and why JKR doesn't understand Slytherin house) anywhere on the web.

Vampy Zach's HD Slasher's Dictionary
This was written to help readers and writers of Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy fiction to understand the language used to describe stories and character and to help them find a particular style of fic or describe their own fics to your anxious readers. (Terms are also used in almost any kind of fan fiction.)

Minotaur is a gay man who writes slash and has both a static site of sex tips and a searchable database of questions and answers from slash authors. Great stuff for those going for authenticity in their sex scenes.

One for the Puppy Shippers
The place to go for authentic details when Padfoot or a Werewolf have a starring role in your slashfic. Also has relevant links for anyone wanting to write a centaur fic. ;-)
