In memory of My Olds Cutlass
This Site established May 19, 2001
This is my tribute to my favorite cars; Oldsmobile Cutlass.

I have owned 3 thus far. The first one was a 1977 Salon. Bought her from a druggy for a whopping $700! Since I was in the military at the time, I had the car checked by the drug dogs and guess what? Surprise! There were drugs in the car, no extra charge!! HAHA Heck of a way to start but things happen. She had been very abused but was still in pretty good shape, all things considered. She became very special, since she was my first. I'd wanted one for many years, since I was in high school, and found her through the good ole AutoTrader. I wanted to give her guts and ruined her in the process. Some friends and I took the motor down to the block, threw on some aftermarket parts and slapped it back together. BIG mistake!!! Gas milage went down to between 9-11 mpg. That was ok at the time since I lived about 1 mile from work. ( base housing)

When the '77 became to expensive to operate (got out of the service and got a job that required lots of travel), I traded her in on a 1986 Supreme Brougham. That car was a cream puff! Classic "little old lady's car", it had a hair over 46K mile on it (9 years old). It had most of the goodies: PS, PB, A/C, Power trunk release, AM/FM cassette, Power windows and the 307 V8. Beautiful car for only $4K. Ruined her too! Let her over heat and made her suffer while she got to where I was going.

After the '86, I left the Olds family and moved into a nice little pickup. It was nice but it wasn't a Cutlass. I set out one afternoon to hit the used car lots and made it around the corner before I ran into a 1976 Supreme Brogham. It was like a combo of my first two;

body of the first and interior of the second. I was in LOVE!!! I'm taking care of this one. It was a daily driver for about a year and a half. Now, she stays in the garage most of the time and only comes out every once in a while. I've got plans for this one, hope I don't ruin her too. I've got a 455 from a another '76 parts car, I plan on doing all the body work right, tranny, rearend, the whole nine yards! However, this time I'll do things the right way!
My plans for the future ownership of another Cutlass; a 1966 convertable /442, another 1986 Supreme and who knows what else. I will have them, right next to my completed '76, you can count on that!!!
