Super Trunion Hole finder.  Drill your trunion holes in the right place the first time.
Can you believe How simple it is?  Use a Center Punch to make the indents
It must be sharp enought to make a hole all the way through but still give a good
indent whose back side fits snugly over/on/in the trunion holes.
This will mark the correct spot to drill your trunion hole in your receiver or flat  to line up with
the trunions on the first try.  NO egg holes anymore.  If you need one email and I wll make one for you.
Minimal cost that is well worth it.
This is a prototype. Final model to be made of harder spring steel to last a lifetime.

How to do it.

Note the ugly ass egg round holes in this receiver are a result of NOT using this tool.  A bad job measuring is to blame.  Known as operator error.
Start by placing the top projection into a trunion hole.  Keep tool flat against trunion.  Pull push up down and it should not slide.  It should be held in place by the projection.   Now pull out on your receiver just enough to slide it over the tool on the trunion making sure the tool is still stuck in the hole.  Push the receiver on farther while keeping the tool in the same place on the trunion.  ( you can mark the back side with a pen ).  At this point you should be able to move the tool slightly fwd and rear and you will feel the index locked into the trunion hole. the exposed end of the tool in your hand can move up and down as it rotates in the hole.

Now slide the receiver all the way on and get lined up in the final place you want it to go when installed.  Get the tool parallel with the edge of the receiver/trunion making sure that it is still locked in the hole.   Now push the top part against the receiver and put a center punch or awl in the hole against the receiver.  Smack it with a hammer.
Congradulations.  You have just centerpunched where to drill your trunion hole.  AS close as your ever going to get.  It may be up to 1/2 hole size off but that is all.  Drill with a 1/8" bit which will still be within the hole.  Now open it up with a file a dremmel or a drill to the right size for your project.  a bit bigger than the hole to allow for some movement is good.
Repeat with the other 3 holes and you are done.  Now tap the holes to 10-32 with the tap provided in my super special kit.
What you have no Kit?  Shame on you.  Go order one now.  If you are going to rivet it then go away now.
Once tapped make sure that all holes are big enough all the way around to allow for the screws to be installed without any interference from the receiver.  Put some loctite on the screws and install them.  You are done a perfect job.  Better and easier than trying to measure the place for the holes.
blah blah blah
