WHAT'S NEW (Tuesday January 4, 2000)
Well, Y2K has come and gone. The MDTA made it safely- no trains fell to Earth, no buses drove themselves into lampposts.
To celebrate the New Year, New York dropped the ball, Paris nearly blasted the Eiffel Tower into orbit, Miami raised the orange, and Coral Way retired 9068.
Webmaster laughs in a very snide fashion.
But it's true- as we cross into the 'new Milennium' (2001), the old geezer retirement flood is crossing into the 9000 series Flxibles. These were the first to come with the wheelchair lifts. And CW has only 5 of 'em- 9067 to 9073.
I've added pictures of two old geezers - 7022 and the cannibalized 7068. And the Power 96 girl now graces 9335.
WHAT'S NEW ( Friday December 31, 1999)
Well it's 10:16 PM here in Miami, the Millennium is fast approaching.
Today 2 more low floors went into service- they are 9983 and 9990.
The Power 96 girl now adorns 7038, 7040 and 7051. She replaces the old Mega 103.5 baby wrap that all 3 of these buses used to carry.
And I've added Route 67 to the routes section.
Now I'd like to wish every one of you a HAPPY, PEACEFUL and PROSPEROUS New Year!!! I'm off to my aunt's house now to be with my family! :)
WHAT'S NEW (Thursday December 30, 1999)
Another low floor bus has arrived - it is 9980. There is also a new Blue Bird bus- 1920.
The new Power 96 bus-side girl now adorns 7049 and 9330.
I'm going to add a few more routes tonight.
The MDTA is providing shuttle service into South Beach and back for only $7 (round trip). The buses will leave from Tamiami Park and Golden Glades Park N Ride. Shuttles will also leave from Government Center. That shuttle is only $1 for a round trip. The Venetian Causeway will be closed at 9 PM- only residents and buses can go in. Collins and Washington Avenues will become one-way streets- Collins will go north, Washington will go south. Two lanes on each street will become 'mini-Busways', reserved for buses and emergency vehicles. Ocean Drive will be closed, pedestrians only. This is only between 5th and 15th streets. Everything will be normal above 15th.
Buses that will be running when the new millennium arrives tomorrow night will include: the 2,3,,11,12,17,21,24,27,37,38 (Busway MAX), 62, 77, C, J, K,L, and the S.

Just in time for Y2K....
I've done some work on my route 87 page.
CW received 2 more NABI low floors today- 9988 and 9992. I'll update the roster list shortly.
At last, the new Power 96 bus-side girl has made her debut. She's on 7003, 7005 and 7031 so far. She's a fine lady, just like the last one.
I got to see 1905 today. It's only missing a patch of paint and the yellow plastic cover over the left turn signal is cracked and has a hole in it. It's also got some scratches on it.
I'll keep working on this page through Y2K. One thing you'll definitley see are pictures of that new Power 96 baby-wrap. That's a fine woman.... :)
