Interview with Big Sean from All Grown Up
518: Could you say your name and what you do in the band?
AGU:Big sean from all grown up and i am the lead singer and play guitar
518:How did all grown up come together?
AGU:We started as a side project. some of us were playing in different bands and wanted to do something new. rob and i were playing in a band with vinnie from brand new. he was our singer. when he left for brand new, AGU became serious...we formed in summer of 99
518:Coming from long island where there are so many bands how do you stand out?
AGU:It is tough, but the whole 516 crew is a very supportive group of friends. We all rep for eachother and help one another out in any way we can...i think we stand out bc we try to experiment with beats and different sounds in our music. plus i'm 7 ft tall. i stick out like a mofo
518:Do you have a favorite venue or venue(s) you like to play in?
AGU:The Bay Village Inn in Amityville is a decent sized bar where we book a lot of shows and play alot. they're like family over there the downtown in farmingdale is also a LI hot spot.
518:Is 518 Music the best music site ever?
AGU:Si Si (Yes, Yes).. I like what you guys are doin
518:Something more important, whats your opnion of Ted Nugent?
AGU:I caught the MTV cribs with him and i was feeling his Butch Cassidy outfit was very cool...As a musician, he did rip it up.
518:What's in your CD player?
AGU:The new recover demos
518:What is the coolest band you have played with and do you have any crazy stories from touring?
AGU:Counterfit is probably the greatest band ever to play with and watch. best dudes...we played with taking back sunday back home at a church show and almost got kicked out of the church. this whole big ordeal...and all because of Jack Daniels
518:What made you get into music?
AGU:My mom
518:what are your plans for the next few months?
AGU:play as much as possible and get our music around to everyone, time at the beach with friends, and try and stay outta trouble.
