| Gardening!! I AM ADDICTED!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| HELLO ALL! My name is Vanessa. Welcome to the home of Perennial and Seed Trading! There is absolutely no reason why we should ever have to purchase seeds and plants when there are gardeners that toss them away!! OH the Horror! I have been caught rescuing orphaned plants from the garbage on the side of the road and reviving them. Hey, there is always room for another plant!! We really didn't need that couch anyway, right?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Save those seeds. Take a few envelopes and label them according to the seeds they contain and favorable growing conditions, planting depth, etc. You know the stuff you see on the purchased seed packages. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Gardening 101: For those of you who don't know a annual from a perennial or just keep forgetting the differences...annuals are planted annually (every year) and perennials, (Latin perennis lasting through the years <per-though + annus-year>)are prosperous, plentiful, prolific and can be very prominent! Biennials are short lived perennials (or long lived annuals) and should be replanted every other year, but sometimes they self sow!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Bare root shipping is a great way to send plants. In their dormant state, they rarely suffer from transplant shock. I have been very successful when planting this way. This saves on shipping costs! Priority Mail is a good resource too, less expensive than 2nd day air by UPS. Remember the less time out of the ground the better chance of survival!! Never ship when your plants will sit over the weekend. Try to ship early monday morning! Soak your roots in warm water for a few hours prior to planting. Then plant immediately. If your plants are wilted, due to heat, soak them in cool, or cold water. You can even place them in water in the frig for a while to crisp them up. The florist's spikes that you fill with water can be used to safely ship you cuttings jst taken or are rooting. |
