Directions to Fitzjohns Farmhouse from Chelmsford, Colchester and Stansted Airport

From Stansted Airport;

Proceed from Arrivals following signs for WAY OUT. At the Second Roundabout, take the Left exit signed Elsenham and Takeley. Immediately you come to another small Roundabout, where you need to take the Right exit for Takeley. Continue until you reach the Traffic Lights. Turn Left here on to the A120 (East) towards Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree, Great Dunmow. Continuing on the A120, bypass Great Dunmow and take a Right onto the A130 signed Chelmsford. Continuing on the A130, drive through the villages of Barnston and Ford End and when you reach the small Roundabout, take the Right exit signed Great Waltham. Proceed into the village of Great Waltham and turn Right immediately after the Beehive Pub into Barrack Lane. From the Beehive Pub drive for exactly 1.3 miles (2.1 Km) when you will reach a group of cottages. Turn Right onto the concrete track in between Meads Cottages (on your left) and Israel’s Bungalow (on your right) - the only sign visible is a Bridleway sign - and proceed down the drive. After the sharp Right Hand bend (but before the large Barn and the Converted Barn on the right) turn left through the Five Bar Gate into Fitzjohns Farmhouse.

From Chelmsford;

Follow signs towards Broomfield A & E Hospital. On approaching Little Waltham, turn Left to Great Waltham. At the Beehive Pub in Great Waltham, turn Left into Barrack Lane. From the Beehive Pub drive for exactly 1.3 miles (2.1 Km) when you will reach a group of cottages. Turn Right onto the concrete track in between Meads Cottages (on your left) and Israel’s Bungalow (on your right) - the only sign visible is a Bridleway sign - and proceed down the drive. After the sharp Right Hand bend (but before the large Barn and the Converted Barn on the right) turn Left through the Five Bar Gate into Fitzjohns Farmhouse.

From Colchester;

Leave the A12 as if for Chelmsford. Follow signs for Stansted Airport and Great Dunmow (A130) until you reach a roundabout signed Braintree to the right. Take a left at this roundabout towards Broomfield A & E Hospital and The Walthams. Turn right where signed for Great Waltham. When you reach the Beehive Pub in Great Waltham, turn Left into Barrack Lane. From the Beehive Pub drive for exactly 1.3 miles (2.1 Km) when you will reach a group of cottages. Turn Right onto the concrete track in between Meads Cottages (on your left) and Israel’s Bungalow (on your right) - the only sign visible is a Bridleway sign - and proceed down the drive.
